desire to increase height - #57138
I am really confused about this whole desire to increase height thing. I've always been the shortest among my friends and it's starting to bother me more than ever. I’m 21 now and I doubt if there's still a chance for me to grow since everyone says you're done growing after a certain age. But then my cousin mentioned something about Ayurveda having natural methods to help with height. Is there really something to it or am I just getting my hopes up for nothing? I've tried a bunch of stretching exercises and even those height boost sneakers, but deep down, there's this burning desire to increase height naturally if possible. It's weird 'cause my dad's like 6 feet tall, and here I am barely reaching 5'6". I've been reading online about Shilajit and other herbs possibly helping in this quest to increase height. Not sure if that's legit, though. Isn't it mostly genetics? Or could a change in diet or lifestyle really make a difference? Has anyone here had success in fulfilling their desire to increase height using Ayurvedic methods? I'm kinda desperate but also hopeful, a bit skeptical too. Would love to hear your thoughts.

Ah, the quest to increase height – a topic that often stirs up a mix of hope and skepticism, doesn’t it? You’re right; genetics do play a significant role in determining height. Still, there are also lifestyle factors and Ayurvedic principles that might offer some potential, even if we’re talking about subtle changes rather than dramatic ones. Since you’re 21, it’s true that most height growth has typically slowed down, but let’s explore this with an open mind.
First, it’s essential to acknowledge that Ayurveda looks at the body holistically, focusing on creating balance in the doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) and optimizing your body’s vitality. This holistic approach could potentially support your overall well-being, which might indirectly influence factors related to growth, such as posture and bone strength. Shilajit, as you’ve read, is indeed quite popular in Ayurveda for its rejuvenating properties. It’s rich in minerals and might contribute to your body’s overall vitality and bone health. But think of it as a supportive measure rather than a magic bullet for height increase.
Besides herbs, Ayurveda emphasizes diet and lifestyle. Eating a balanced diet rich in calcium, magnesium, and vitamin D can support bone health – think leafy greens, nuts, seeds, and dairy or fortified alternatives if you’re plant-based. Regular physical activity is crucial, too. While stretching exercises are fantastic, incorporating strength training or yoga can enhance posture and muscle strength, which might help you stand a bit taller, so to speak. Don’t discount the power of strong, aligned posture.
Then there’s sleep, often overlooked but vital. During deep sleep, the body repairs and regenerates, processes that are critical for growth and development. So, ensuring you get enough quality rest is vital. Ayurveda also emphasizes routines, or “dinacharya”; having a consistent schedule can improve overall health and well-being, subtly supporting your body’s growth processes.
While your desire to increase height is valid, it’s equally important to cultivate a sense of acceptance and confidence in your body as it is. It’s a bit of a balance, isn’t it? Embracing what you have while gently working towards your goals. Some people may not see significant changes in height, but they find that improving their health and posture makes them feel taller and more confident.
It’s understandable to be skeptical, especially when faced with tall claims. And it’s wise to question, research, and approach any supplement or practice with a healthy dose of skepticism. While you might not find a dramatic change, these Ayurvedic approaches can contribute to your overall health, which is a win on its own. So, perhaps the journey is not just about increasing height but about standing tall in your own skin, feeling balanced, and appreciating your body’s unique nature.
