I’m in my late 50s and recently went through postmenopause. For a while, I felt a sense of relief because I no longer had to deal with periods and the ups and downs of my menstrual cycle. I’ve started having trouble sleeping, I feel more irritable than usual, and I’ve gained weight around my belly. One of the most concerning symptoms I’ve experienced since entering postmenopause is hot flashes. They seem to come out of nowhere, especially at night, and they leave me drenched in sweat.
