••What Your Ultrasound Report Means ••Uterus Position and Size: Your uterus is retroverted, meaning it tilts backward toward your spine instead of forward. This is a very common, normal anatomical variation (like being left-handed) and is not a disease. The size (7.8 times 3.7 cm) is perfectly normal. ••Heterogeneous Myometrium: The muscular wall of your uterus (the myometrium) looks uneven or texturized on the ultrasound, which is a classic sign when fibroids are present. ••The Main Fibroid (FIGO V): You have a prominent growth measuring about 52 times 50mm (around 5 cm, or the size of a lime). The “FIGO V” classification means it is an intramural-subserosal fibroid. It sits mostly within the muscular front wall of the uterus but bulges outward toward the outer surface. ••The Small Fibroid: There is a much smaller, poorly defined growth measuring 13 times 6mm embedded in the back wall. ••Nabothian Cysts: These are tiny, completely harmless, fluid-filled pockets on the cervix. They are non-cancerous and do not require treatment. ••Endometrium: The inner lining of your uterus is centrally placed and 6\text{ mm} thick, which is entirely healthy and normal. The Ayurvedic Perspective on Your Report ••In Ayurveda, uterine fibroids are understood as Granthi Roga—benign, encapsulated growths. This condition arises due to an imbalance in the body’s humors, specifically an aggravation of Kapha (which causes accumulation and growth) and Vata (which misdirects tissue formation and flow), alongside an accumulation of Ama (metabolic toxins) in the reproductive channels (Artava Vaha Srotas). ••However, classic Ayurvedic protocols for a Granthi of this size (5cm) typically focus on Lekhana (scraping/dissolving the growth) and balancing Apana Vata (the downward energy controlling menstruation): ••Kanchnar Guggulu: A traditional herbomineral formulation widely used to clear blockages, balance Kapha, and reduce the size of abnormal growths or nodules. ••Varunadi Kwath / Shigru: Herbs known for their deep penetrative and scraping actions to help break down dense tissue. ••Asava/Arishta Formulations: Tonics like Ashokarishta or Kumaryasava are frequently paired to regulate menstrual flow, tone the uterus, and kindle digestion to eliminate metabolic toxins.
