How to treat prolonged menstrual bleeding in a 24-year-old female with irregular cycles? - #56577
I'm 24 years female unmarried, soon to be married in 3 months. My issue is prolonged menstrual bleeding. My menarche was at the age of 12 (2014). It was 19 days long. The second bleeding was prolonged for 8 months (December 2014 to August 2015). And then it was like 5 months prolonged, 3 months, 2 months. Then it was like 12 days bleeding each month. At my age of 20, menstrual bleeding was once in two months. Only one time skipped for 3 months. At the age of 22, it was perfect, the bleeding lasted 5 to 7 days each month. Recent history : On 2025, it got skipped on September, I got bleeding on last week of October. (Done a USG - Pelvis abdomen by the end of September, the results was completely fine no visible abnormalities.) Then from November to December = 14 days January to February = 14 days March=20 days April to May = 34 days. Appetite - Normal Sleep - late sleeps even when tired. (12:30am or 1) Thoughts of these irregularities flash. Water intake - enough Hemoglobin level- 11.7 (As of April 30,2026). No intake of sugary snacks, packed foods, caffeine (tea or coffee only once or no intake per day), no junk foods (maybe once in 4 or 5 months).

Based on your history, this is not a typical menstrual pattern and deserves a thorough evaluation by a gynecologist, especially since you have had episodes of bleeding lasting months since menarche and now recurrent prolonged bleeding (14–34 days). Your hemoglobin (11.7 g/dL) already suggests mild anemia from chronic blood loss –rx 1. Ashokarishta – 20 ml + equal water after meals, twice daily. 2. Pushyanug Churna – 3 g twice daily with rice-wash water or honey (under supervision). 3. Praval Pishti – 250 mg twice daily with honey. 4. Punarnava Mandur – 2 tablets twice daily after meals (helps support hemoglobin and fatigue). -----Diet Include pomegranate, black raisins (soaked overnight), dates, beetroot, amla, sesame seeds. Prefer warm freshly cooked meals. Avoid excessive spicy, sour, fermented, fried foods. Avoid fasting and skipping meals. ------Lifestyle Aim for sleep by 10–10:30 PM. Gentle walking and yoga. Manage stress through meditation/pranayama. Maintain a menstrual diary noting bleeding days, flow, clots, and pain. Important ------Since your marriage is in 3 months and you may plan pregnancy in the future, I strongly recommend a gynecological consultation before marriage to establish the exact cause. Long-standing abnormal uterine bleeding since adolescence should not be treated only symptomatically without a proper diagnosis. ----- go for cbc, USG pelvis in urgent bases
