Namaste,

I understand that experiencing action tremors for so many years can be frustrating, especially when it interferes with daily activities like writing, typing, and holding objects. Since these tremors occur only during voluntary movements, it suggests an imbalance in Vata dosha, particularly affecting the Majja Dhatu (nervous system) and Pranavaha Srotas (neurological pathways).

Additionally, your blood pressure, diabetes, and post-intercourse weakness indicate a need for better energy regulation, nerve strength, and overall balance. Here’s how Ayurveda can help:

1. Ayurvedic Herbs for Tremor Control & Nerve Strength • Brahmi (Bacopa Monnieri) – Improves nerve function and hand stability. Take Brahmi Ghrita or Brahmi Vati daily. • Ashwagandha (Withania Somnifera) – Reduces tremors, enhances muscle coordination, and relieves post-intercourse fatigue. Take 1 tsp powder with warm milk at bedtime. • Malkangni (Celastrus Paniculatus) – Strengthens nerves and improves motor control. Use 5-10 drops of oil in warm water. • Dashmool Kwath – Helps balance Vata and reduces muscle stiffness. Boil and drink once a day.

2. Medicated Oils & External Applications • Mahanarayan Oil or Bala Tailam Massage – Gently massage arms and hands to strengthen nerves and reduce tremors. • Shirodhara Therapy (if accessible) – Helps in calming the nervous system and stabilizing motor function.

3. Diet & Lifestyle Modifications • Include ghee, nuts (almonds, walnuts), sesame seeds, and warm milk to nourish the nervous system. • Avoid excessive caffeine, tea, and cold foods, as they aggravate Vata. • Practice Pranayama (Anulom Vilom, Bhramari) to improve nerve control. • Sleep well and manage stress, as fatigue worsens tremors.

4. Post-Intercourse Fatigue • Shatavari and Ashwagandha Churna in warm milk can help regain strength. • Draksha (raisins) soaked overnight with warm milk enhances stamina. • Reduce excessive intercourse frequency if it leads to extreme weakness.

Since your tremors have been present since age 17, it’s important to regularly follow Ayurvedic therapies to strengthen the nervous system. If you’d like a detailed, personalized treatment plan, I’m happy to guide you further.

Wishing you strength and stability.

Hello, Your tremors seem to be action tremors rather than Parkinsonism, as they occur when performing tasks like writing, holding objects, or typing. Since they started at 17 and have continued, it may be an essential tremor or Vata imbalance. Your high blood pressure, diabetes, and large body frame could also contribute to nerve instability. Do the tremors get worse with stress, fatigue, or caffeine? Do you feel weakness, stiffness, or tingling in your hands? Since you also experience discomfort after sexual activity, does it worsen your fatigue or cause shakiness? Ayurvedic treatment focuses on calming Vata and strengthening the nerves. You can take Ashwagandha Churna (1 tsp twice daily with warm milk), Brahmi Vati (1 tablet twice daily) for nerve health, and Dashmool Kwath (20 ml twice daily) to balance Vata.

Massaging your hands and arms with Mahanarayan Taila before bedtime can help reduce tremors. A diet rich in soaked almonds, walnuts, ghee, and warm, nourishing foods will support your nervous system. Avoid caffeine, sugar, and very spicy food as they can worsen tremors. Practicing Pranayama (Anulom Vilom, Bhramari) for 10 minutes daily can help calm the nervous system.

It sounds like you’re dealing with quite a bit. Essential tremors, especially when they’ve been part of your life for so long, can be quite challenging. In Ayurveda, tremors like these often relate to an imbalance in the Vata dosha. Vata is responsible for movement in both the mind and body and when out of balance, it can lead to conditions like tremors.

Given your history with high blood pressure and diabetes, it’s important to approach this with a bit of caution, but Ayurveda has some helpful tips. First off, have a look at your diet. Try to include warm, cooked, and oily foods. Vata benefits from moist, well-cooked dishes — think hearty soups or stews. Avoid overly spicy, cold, or dry foods as they can aggravate Vata.

You might find some relief through Abhyanga, or self-oil massage. Using sesame or herbal oils like ashwagandha taila, do a gentle massage daily. It might help calm the nerves and reduce tremors. Also try: regular intake of a teaspoon of ashwagandha powder in warm milk before bed can be supportive for nerve health.

Since you mentioned issues after sexual intercourse, it might be the tensed muscles or energy depletion. Ensure you’re rehydrating and consider practicing yoga or breathing exercises (pranayama) to help balance energy. Poses like Cat-Cow or the Wind-Relieving pose might really help.

What’s key here is to maintain a calm, grounding routine. Sticking to regular sleep-wake cycles and meal times keeps Vata pacified. Also, if possible, consider Ayurvedic consultations for tailored remedies or therapies like Shirodhara, which can calm nervous system imbalances.

Be sure though to keep in touch with your doctor — collaborate with both modern and Ayurvedic medicine to get the best care for your body’s needs.
