Dear Aisha,

Your migraine seems to be due to a combination of Vata-Pitta imbalance, anemia (low Hb), and eye strain. Since it runs in your family, genetic factors may also play a role. Here’s a natural Ayurvedic approach to help manage and reduce your migraine attacks:

Start on 1.TAB MEDAVATI 1 tab twice daily after food 2.ashwagandha churna 1/2 tsp with warm milk at night 3.syp lohasava 4 tsp with equal quantity of water after food twice daily

Drink plenty of fluids, avoid over use of screen Avoid spicy fermented processed food caffeine, excess salt, soft drinks

Hey there, having migraines for so long sounds really challenging. First off, you’re definitely not alone — migraines can be seriously debilitating, and it’s tough when it runs in families too. So let’s get into it.

You mentioned low hemoglobin, and while it’s not exactly the root cause of migraines, low iron can worsen them since it affects how oxygen gets transported in your body. So, boosting your iron levels might actually help. Try to increase your intake of iron-rich foods like spinach, lentils, and beetroot. Adding a squeeze of lemon juice can enhance iron absorption cause vitamin C helps in that.

Now, from an Ayurvedic perspective, migraines often relate to a vitiation in Vata and Pitta doshas. Addressing these imbalances can really help. Staying hydrated is crucial, and try to include cooling foods like cucumber and watermelon to soothe Pitta. Also, warm oil massages to the scalp with sesame or coconut oil can be calming for Vata imbalance, do this once or twice a week.

Considering the eyesight issue, eye strain might be a trigger too, so take regular breaks from screens and use the “20-20-20 rule” — every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds.

I’d also suggest setting a consistent sleep schedule. Migraine loves routine, oddly enough. Going to bed and waking up at the same time every day helps stabilize your doshas, curbing random attacks. Practicing yoga and pranayama, specifically the Bhramari breath, is effective for relieving head tension too — simple and peaceful.

Oh, about your severe symptoms — make sure you’re checking in with your doctor regularly to rule out anything more complicated. Sometimes, especially with migraines, it can be a bit of trial and error to find what works best, so hang in there. Hopefully, some of these things will start to make a difference!
