How to tackle the problem of irregular periods. - #26744

My mom is 48 years old and she is not getting her periods from 3 months.Is it menopause or any other medical reason? She has been getting her periods irregularly from last 6 months . Kindly give a solution.

It’s seems to be she is proceeding towards menopause. Avoid oily, spicy and processed foods. Regular exercise and meditation. Increase intake of raw vegetables and fruits. Tab. Shatavari 2-0-2 Tab. Menosen 2-0-2

This may cause symptoms such as irregular cycles, insomnia, mood swings or hot flashes. To manage these symptons and promote a smoother transition, Ayurveda suggests certain lifestyle and dietary changes.

First, encourage your mother to focus on a Vata-pacifying diet. This includes nourishing, warm, and easily digestible foods like cooked grains (rice, quinoa), dairy, and stewed fruits. She should avoid dry and raw foods, caffeine, and reduce intake of processed sugar, as these can exacerbate Vata imbalance.

Maintaining a regular daily routine with proper rest is crucial; Ayurveda places importance on going to bed by 10 PM and waking early in the morning. Gentle physical activities such as yoga, pranayama, and meditation can also be beneficial in balancing emotions and promoting relaxation. Abhyanga, or self-massage with warm sesame oil, may also support hormone balance, calm the nervous system, and enhance skin health.
