Pain on the right side of the head, especially above the right eyebrow, along with symptoms of acid reflux and burping points to an imbalance of the Pitta dosha. In Ayurveda, this condition can be associated with an excess of heat in the body, often aggravated by skipping meals and exposure to sunlight which are both Pitta-aggravatng factors.

For immediate relief, it is crucial to focus on Pitta-pacifying strategies. Start by ensuring regular meal timings. Eat small, frequent meals instead of large and less frequent ones to avoid triggers related to digestive irregularities. Try to include cooling and soothing foods in your diet like cucumbers, dairy products like milk and ghee, and naturally sweet foods. Avoid spicy, sour, or fried foods which can increase Pitta further. Drinking a glass of coconut water or fresh aloe vera juice once daily can also help in cooling down the system.

In terms of lifestyle, avoid direct exposure to intense sunlight. If you must be outside during peak sun hours, use a hat or carry an umbrella to protect yourself. Practice regular stress-reduction exercises such as yoga and meditation, particularly focusing on calming the mind and body.

Then, you can also consider the use of certain Ayurvedic herbs. Try taking Amla Churna (Indian gooseberry powder) mixed in a glass of warm water on an empty stomach in the morning. This can help to balance Pitta effectively. However, always check for any allergies or consult with a practitioner before using new herbs.

Additionally, ensure adequate hydration by sipping on cooled boiled water throughout the day. If the head pain or acid reflux becomes severe or is affecting your daily routine, it’s important to seek professional guidance to rule out any underlying medical conditions. Remember, Ayurveda works best as preventive measure, so incorporating these changes into your lifestyle can help maintain a balance in the long run.

The symptoms you mention, like the sharp pain on the right side of your head and above the right eyebrow, possibly correlate with an imbalance of the Pitta dosha. Pitta, responsible for metabolism and transformation, can become aggravated and lead to such issues—especially when triggered by skipping meals and exposure to the sun, both known to increase Pitta.

The connection with acid reflux and burping also reinforces this. When Pitta is high, it leads to increased acidity and digestive disturbances. First, I’d recommend you avoid skipping meals. Opt for frequent, small portions to maintain even energy and Pitta balance. Consume meals that are cooling and soothing like warm cooked grains (like rice), steamed vegetables, and hydrating fruits, avoiding overly spicy, fried or fermented foods.

For acute relief, try applying a paste of sandalwood powder mixed with a little water or rose water on the forehead, where the pain is most intense. This has a cooling effect, pacifying Pitta naturally. Herbal teas made with cardamom or coriander can also alleviate symptoms of acidity and support digestive comfort.

Make it a habit to hydrate adequately throughout the day, but avoid refrigerated or icy drinks. Regularly practicing Sahaj Vriti Pranayama can stabilize your agni (digestive fire) and maintain dosha equilibrium. Manage stress with light Yoga or meditation, since stress can provokes dosha imbalance.

If symptoms continue or intensify, it’s important to consult an Ayurvedic practitioner or a healthcare professional to ensure there are no underlying medical concerns requiring advanced care.
