My age 48, continue periods. Last one year fat accumulated in thighs and stomach. Recently diagnosed by faty liver grade1. How I reduce weight and reverse fatty liver pls advice. I am taking hypertension and thyroid medicine.

Avoid oily, spicy and processed foods. Regular exercise. Increase intake of raw vegetables and fruits. Use boiled water for drinking. Tab. Menosen 2-0-2 Follow up after 12weeks

Hello Lakshmi ji, I recommend the following treatment plan for weight loss- TREATMENT- 1. Arogyavardhni vati-0-1-1 before meals 2. Medohar vati-0-2-2 before meals 3.Triphla churna-1/2 tsp with lukewarm water at bedtime.

Focus on creating a calorie deficit (burning more calories than you consume) through a combination of diet and exercise for sustainable weight loss. Diet- Foods to Include: Fruits and Vegetables: Aim for at least 4 servings of vegetables and 3 servings of fruits daily. Whole Grains: Choose whole grains like brown rice, quinoa, oats, and whole-wheat bread over refined grains (white rice, white bread). Lean Proteins: Include protein sources like fish, chicken, beans, lentils, and eggs, as they help you feel full and support muscle mass. Healthy Fats: Incorporate healthy fats from sources like olive oil, avocados, nuts, and seeds. Low-Fat Dairy: Choose low-fat or fat-free dairy products. Hydration: Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Foods to Limit or Avoid: Alcohol, sugary drinks,fast food.   Portion Control: Be mindful of portion sizes and avoid overeating. Use smaller plates. Mindful Eating: Pay attention to your body’s hunger and fullness cues.

Fiber Intake: Increase your fiber intake, as it can help you feel full and regulate digestion, according to Healthline. . Drink plenty of water to help with weight loss and overall health.

Continuing periods at age 48, coupled with fat accumulation in thighs and stomach, is not uncommon as hormonal changes affect metabolism. Also, a diagnosis of grade 1 fatty liver indicates an excess accumulation of fat in liver cells. Ayurveda offers thoughtful interventions to address these issues holistically.

First, prioritize balancing your doshas and improving agni (digestive fire). A kapha-pacifying diet can support weight reduction and metabolic function. Opt for warm, light meals, low in fats and refined carbohydrates. Include whole grains such as barley, quinoa, and oats, which are easier to digest and help reduce kapha. Favor fresh fruits like apples and pears, and cruciferous vegetables like cabbage and broccoli for their detoxifying properties.

Incorporate spices like turmeric, ginger, and black pepper in cooking, as they enhance digestion and help reduce ama (toxins). It’s critical not to neglect fats altogether; choose beneficial sources like flaxseed oil or olive oil in moderation. Avoid alcohol and reduce intake of sugary foods, as these exacerbate liver stress.

Additionally, consider herbs like Triphala which support digestion and assist in weight management. This potent herbal supplement can be taken with warm water before bedtime – it helps regulate bowel movements and reduce ama. Try to consult a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner before starting any herbal remedy, especially considering your other medications.
