In Ayurveda, each person’s constitution, or Prakriti, is unique, and postpartum imbalances often relate to disturbances in Vata dosha. An imbalance can manifest as feeling not quite oneself. While specific medications and supplements should be tailored individually, some general guidelines can support postpartum women in regaining health and balance.

For hormonal balance and general recovery, consider Ashwagandha. Known as an adaptogen, it helps in managing stress and can assist in stabilizing emotions. The typical dosage is 500 mg powder mixed with warm milk, taken in the evening, but always verify with a healthcare provider to adjust to individual needs.

Shatavari is another herb revered for supporting reproductive health and lactation. It can be consumed in powder form, about 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon with warm milk, preferably in the morning. It nourishes the tissues and supports hormonal equilibrium.
