Fem Calm does not work as a weight gainer it mainly helps in calming hormonal imbalance and supporting ovarian function especially in pcos when cycles are irregular or ovaries show small follicles now since your scans are normal and periods are coming regularly this shows that the hormonal side has improved but low blood flow tells that the body nourishment is still weak

Weight gain does not happen only because hormones are balanced it happens when digestion appetite and regular eating are strong if eating is irregular the body goes into saving mode and does not build tissue even if medicines are taken this is why you may not be gaining weight even after many months

Low menstrual flow usually means the blood and tissue inside the body are not fully rebuilt this is commonly seen in women who eat less skip meals eat at odd times or stay under stress Fem Calm can keep cycles regular but it will not increase weight or improve blood flow unless the body is properly nourished

To gain weight in a healthy way your body needs regular warm meals good quantity proper digestion and rest once this improves weight gain starts slowly and periods also become healthier with better flow

You can continue Fem Calm only if advised but for weight gain the focus should be on food routine digestion support and nourishing medicines not only hormone balancing when this is corrected results usually start showing within a few weeks

Hello I get why you’re worried. It’s confusing when you’re trying to gain weight, had PCOS before, and now have light periods, even though your scans are clear. It feels like your body isn’t quite right.

YOUR CONCERN

- You’re 47. - Had PCOS last year (tiny cysts on both ovaries). - Now, your ovaries look fine on scans. - Your periods come, but they’re super light. - You’ve been trying to gain weight for over six months. - You don’t eat at regular times. - And you’re wondering: Can Fem Calm help me gain weight? Is it even useful now that my PCOS is under control?

Why this is happening (from an Ayurvedic point of view):

At your age, it’s not really active PCOS. It’s more about: - Vata dominance increasing as you get older. - Your tissues (Rasa, Rakta, and Artava Dhatu) aren’t getting enough goodness. - Your digestion (Mandagni) is sluggish because you eat at weird times. - Your uterus isn’t getting enough nutrition, leading to light periods. - It’s hard to gain weight because your body isn’t building tissue well, not just because you’re not eating enough.

Think about this: Your ovaries might look normal, but getting older can mess with your digestion and raise your Vata, making it tough to gain weight and keep your period flow normal.

ABOUT FEM CALM (super important):

Will Fem Calm make me gain weight? No. Fem Calm is NOT for weight gain.

What Fem Calm actually does: - Helps balance hormones. - Helps with PCOS, PMS, anxiety, and mood swings. - Helps regulate your cycle.

Since: - Your PCOS isn’t active right now. - Your main goal is to gain weight and get more nourished.

Fem Calm won’t help you gain weight and isn’t what you need now.

What you actually need:

Focus on these things: - Making your digestion stronger. - Giving your tired tissues some love. - Fixing Vata imbalance. - Gaining weight in a healthy way. - Getting your period flow back to normal.

AYURVEDIC PLAN (safe for someone 47)

Take these for 3 months:

1. Ashwagandha Churna Half a teaspoon, twice a day with warm milk. - Boosts your appetite. - Helps with healthy weight gain. - Makes muscles and hormones stronger.

2. Shatavari Churna Half a teaspoon, twice a day with warm milk. - Nourishes Artava Dhatu (tissue). - Helps with period flow. - Balances female hormones.

3. Drakshasava 15 ml with the same amount of water, twice a day after meals. - Makes digestion better. - Helps you gain weight slowly. - Helps with blood creation and flow.

DIET PLAN

✅ INCLUDE

- Eat at set times (this is key). - Warm milk every day. - Ghee (1–2 teaspoons daily). - Rice, wheat, moong dal. - Dates, figs, soaked raisins. - Banana with milk. - Warm, homemade food.

❌ AVOID

- Skipping meals. - Cold food and drinks. - Too much tea or coffee. - Junk and packaged foods. - Eating late at night.

Lifestyle changes (super important):

- Eat every 3–4 hours. - Be in bed by 11 pm. - Try gentle yoga or walking. - Don’t overdo exercise. - Chill out and reduce stress.

Gaining weight healthily at your age is a slow but steady process, which is ideal.

Things to remember: - Light periods at 47 could just be peri-menopause, not a problem. - Focus on getting strong and nourished, not just forcing weight gain. - Skip unnecessary hormone products.

It’s great your PCOS is under control. Right now, your body just needs regular food, good digestion, and nourishment for your tissues, not hormone helpers like Fem Calm.

Stick to the right routine and Ayurvedic advice, and your weight, strength, and period comfort can naturally improve.

Warm Regards Dr. Snehal Vidhate

Hlo,

Short answer: No — Fem Calm is not a weight gainer. But I’ll explain clearly how it may indirectly affect weight and what you should do instead.

About Fem Calm Fem Calm (Ayurvedic formulation) is mainly used for: PCOS / hormonal imbalance Irregular or scanty periods Pelvic congestion, ovarian health Uterine toning

👉 Its purpose is hormone regulation, not weight gain.

Can it cause weight gain? ❌ Not directly ✔️ If hormones stabilize and digestion improves, some people notice mild, healthy weight normalization It will not increase fat or muscle mass on its own So if your weight is low, Fem Calm alone is insufficient. Your Case (Important Points)

From what you shared: ✔️ PCOS improved (follicles now normal) ✔️ Periods regular ⚠️ Low blood flow ⚠️ Trying to gain weight for >6 months ⚠️ Irregular eating habits This suggests: Vata + Pitta imbalance Mild Rasa & Rakta dhatu deficiency Metabolism may be weak despite regular cycles

Why weight is not increasing Common Ayurvedic reasons: Irregular meals → poor nutrient absorption Weak Agni (digestive fire) Hormones stabilized but dhatu nourishment still lacking Possible mild anemia (low flow often indicates this)

What to do (Effective & Safe Plan) 1️⃣ Continue Fem Calm (if already prescribed) Dose (general guidance): Fem Calm syrup: 10 ml twice daily after meals OR Fem Calm tablets: 1 tablet twice daily after meals 👉 Helps maintain ovarian & cycle health ⚠️ Not enough for weight gain alone

2️⃣ Add Ayurvedic support for weight & flow

A. Ashwagandha + Shatavari Ashwagandha powder: ½ tsp at night with warm milk Shatavari powder: ½ tsp morning with warm milk ✔️ Improves weight ✔️ Improves menstrual flow ✔️ Balances hormones ✔️ Reduces stress-related weight loss

3️⃣ Diet changes (MOST IMPORTANT) Even medicines won’t work without this. Daily must-have foods: Milk (warm) + dates (2–3) Homemade ghee (1–2 tsp/day) Rice, wheat roti Banana, soaked raisins Moong dal, paneer, curd (daytime only)

❌ Avoid: Skipping meals Excess tea/coffee Cold, packaged foods 👉 Eat every 3–4 hours, even small portions.

4️⃣ For low menstrual flow Black sesame seeds: 1 tsp daily Jaggery after lunch Warm water only during periods

Fem Calm does NOT cause weight gain. It works mainly to balance hormones, calm the mind, and regulate periods. You may safely continue Fem Calm, but healthy weight gain needs proper nourishment, digestion, and Vata balance. Your symptoms indicate Vata dominance, which often causes: Difficulty gaining weight Low menstrual flow Hormonal sensitivity despite regular cycles 🌿 Ayurvedic Support Plan for PCOS & Healthy Weight Gain 🩺 Medicines ✔ Shatavari Powder – 2 g once daily with warm milk → Nourishes tissues, supports hormones & feminine health ✔ Ashwagandha Arishta – 15 ml once daily after meals → Boosts strength, reduces stress & supports weight gain ✔ Dashmoolarishta – 15 ml once daily after meals → Improves pelvic circulation & menstrual flow ⏳ Follow regularly for 8–12 weeks for visible results. 🥗 Eat to Nourish (Don’t Skip!) ✨ Focus on warm, nourishing & grounding foods Milk, ghee (1–2 tsp daily), paneer Rice, wheat, oats, moong dal Soaked almonds, dates, walnuts Fruits like banana, mango, chikoo (moderate) 🚫 Avoid: Skipping meals Excess tea/coffee Cold, dry, packaged foods 📌 Golden rule: Eat on time & prefer small, frequent meals. 🍵 Simple Home Remedies 🌿 Cinnamon + Ginger Tea once daily → Improves digestion & hormonal balance 🌿 Add a pinch of dry ginger (saunth) in food → Helps appetite & nutrient absorption 🧘‍♀️ Yoga That Truly Helps PCOS ✨ Practice daily (20–25 minutes): Baddha Konasana Bhujangasana Setu Bandhasana Vajrasana after meals 🌬️ Pranayama Anulom Vilom – 5 min Bhramari – 5 rounds 🌙 Lifestyle Keys (Very Important!) ✔ Sleep before 11 pm ✔ Avoid over-exercising ✔ Reduce stress (PCOS loves stress!) ✔ No late-night eating

FEM CALM IS MAINLY USED TO SUPPORT HORMONAL BALANCE AND REDUCE STRESS IT DOES NOT DIRECTLY CAUSE WEIGHT GAIN SINCE WEIGHT GAIN DEPENDS ON DIGESTION METABOLISM AND NUTRIENT INTAKE YOUR IRREGULAR EATING HABITS AND POSSIBLE LOW DIGESTIVE FIRE MAY BE WHY WEIGHT GAIN IS DIFFICULT EVEN THOUGH PCOS IS NOW BETTER AND PERIODS ARE REGULAR LOW BLOOD FLOW SHOWS THAT YOUR BODY STILL NEEDS SUPPORT

TO GAIN WEIGHT NATURALLY YOU NEED WARM COOKED NUTRIENT RICH FOODS INCLUDE MOONG DAL KHICHDI WITH GHEE COOKED VEGETABLES OATS OR RICE WITH MILK AND DRY FRUITS TAKE ASHWAGANDHA CHURNA 1 TEASPOON WITH MILK BEFORE SLEEP TO SUPPORT HORMONES AND MUSCLE MASS TAKE SHATAVARI CHURNA 1 TEASPOON WITH WARM WATER OR MILK DAILY TO SUPPORT REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AND BLOOD FLOW INCLUDE GHEE AND SESAME OIL IN DIET MODERATELY TO NOURISH TISSUES

AVOID SKIPPING MEALS AND MAKE EATING SCHEDULE REGULAR LIGHT EXERCISE LIKE WALKING OR YOGA WILL IMPROVE METABOLISM AND HORMONAL BALANCE FEM CALM CAN BE USED TO REDUCE STRESS BUT WEIGHT GAIN WILL COME FROM REGULAR DIGESTION AND NOURISHING DIET RATHER THAN SUPPLEMENT ALONE

🌿 Fem Calm Syrup & Weight Gain - Fem Calm (Ayurvedic uterine tonic) is primarily designed for hormonal balance, menstrual regulation, and uterine health. - It contains herbs like Shatavari, Ashoka, Lodhra, Dashmool (depending on brand formulation). - It is NOT a weight gainer. Its role is to regulate cycles, reduce PCOS symptoms, and improve reproductive health. - If your periods are now regular but with low blood flow, Fem Calm may help strengthen the uterine lining, but it won’t directly increase body weight.

⚖️ Why You’re Struggling to Gain Weight - Irregular eating habits → poor nutrient absorption. - PCOS history → hormonal imbalance can affect metabolism. - Low blood flow → may indicate Rasa Dhatu depletion (Ayurvedic view), leading to weakness and difficulty in building tissues.

🏡 Ayurvedic & Home Remedies for Healthy Weight Gain Instead of Fem Calm, focus on Rasayana (nourishing) herbs and foods: - Shatavari powder – 3 g twice daily with warm milk. - Ashwagandha churna – 3 g twice daily with milk + ghee. - Chyawanprash – 1 tsp daily with warm milk. - Dates, figs, soaked almonds, raisins – natural calorie boosters. - Moong dal khichdi with ghee – easy to digest and nourishing. - Milk + turmeric + jaggery – bedtime tonic for strength.

🧘 Lifestyle - Structured meals: 3 main meals + 2 snacks daily. - Yoga for weight gain: Bhujangasana, Vajrasana after meals, Shavasana for relaxation. - Sleep: 7–8 hours, as poor sleep worsens PCOS and weight issues.

warm Regards DR. ANJALI SEHRAWAT

HELLO,

You had PCOS last year. Now your periods are regular, which is a very positive sign. However, the flow is light, which means the body is still not fully balanced internally.

FROM AN AYURVEDIC POINT OF VIEW -Kapha dosha caused PCOS earlier-> cyst tendency, sluggish ovaries, hormonal imbalance -With time, treatment or natural correction, cycles became regular -But now Vata dosha has become dominant, causing –reduced blood flow –dryness in uterine tissues –inadequate nourishment of menstrual blood

THINK OF IT LIKE THIS -The cycle timing is corrected, but the menstrual tissue strength is still weak

WHY IS MENSTRUAL FLOW LIGHT? According to Ayurveda, proper menstruation needs -good digestion -proper blood formation -clear channels -balanced hormones

IN YOUR CASE -Sedentary lifestyle-> slow metabolism -Mild kapha blockage still present -Vata dryness-> less flow -Uterus and ovaries need better nourishment

This is not dangerous, but it should not be ignored, because -Long term light flow can again disturb ovulation -PCOS tendency can return if lifestyle remains sedentary

TREATMENT GOALS -balance vata + kapha -improve digestion and metabolism -nourish uterus and ovaries -prevent recurrence of PCOS -improve quality of menstrual blood -support natural hormonal rhythm

INTERNAL MEDICATIONS

1) ASHOKARISHTA= 20 ml with equal water, twice daily after meals for 3 months = nourishes uterus, improves menstrual blood quality, regulates flow gently, does not force bleeding

2) SHATAVARI CHURNA= 1/2 tsp with warm milk at night for 3 months =reduces uterine dryness, supports female hormones naturally, improves tissue nourishment

3) TRIPHALA CHURNA= 1/2 tsp with warm water at bedtime long term =improves metabolism, removes toxin buildup, prevents kapha accumulation , helps ovarian function indirectly

4) FEMCLAM SYRUP= usually 15ml twice daily short term 1-2 cycles only =if flow becomes very scanty, if uterine nourishment Is low, if hormonal irregularity persists NOT COMPULSORY IF CYCLES ARE STABLE

EXTERNAL THERAPIES

1) OIL MASSAGE -use warm sesame oil -apply on lower abdomen, lower back, thighs -3-4 times per week =reduces vata dryness, improves pelvic circulatio, supports healthy menstruation

2) HOT WATER FOMENTATION -warm compress on lower abdomen -10-15 min daily

DIET -warm, cooked foods -moong dal, massor dal -vegetables= pumpkin, carrot, bottle gourd -cow ghee 1 tsp daily -dates, soaked raisins -sesame seeds

AVOID -cold drinks -ice cream, bakery foods -excess cheese, panner -junk, fried food -skipping meals

IMPORTANT= light flow improves when digestion improves

LIFESTYLE CHANGES Your sedentary lifestyle is a major factor -30-45 min brisk walking daily -gently sweating is necessary -sleep before 11 pm

AVOID -daytime sleep -sitting continuously for long hours -excess screen time at night

YYOGA ASANAS -baddha konasana -malasana -bhujangasana -setu bandhasana

PRANAYAM -Aulom vilom= 10 min -Kapalbhati= 2 rounds slow -Bhramari= 5 rounds =improves ovarian blood flow, balances hormones, prevents cyst recurrence

HOME REMEDIES 1) Sesame seed + jaggery = 1 tsp daily in luteal phase -improves menstrual flow

2) GINGER TEA -once daily =improves circulation and digestion

3) SOAKED RAISINS -5-6 daily in morning

Your condition is manageable and reversible -Regular cycle is already a good sign -Medicines alone will not work without lifestyle change -Avoid self medication for Pcos -Ayurveda works best when diet, movement, and medicine are combined

With correct routine, PCOS does not need lifelong treatment

DO FOLLOW

HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL

THANK YOU

DR. MAITRI ACHARYA
