Hello Faiza. At 45 years old, an 8-day delay is a very normal, classic sign that you are entering the perimenopausal transition phase. In Ayurveda, as you approach menopause, your body naturally shifts into a Vata (air/space) dominant phase. Vata is dry and irregular by nature, which is exactly why your cycles are stretching out to 38 days and becoming delayed. Your sugar cravings are also your body’s natural response attempting to ground this sudden Vata fluctuation. ✓Ayurvedic Prescription Instead of aggressive medicines to force a bleed, you need gentle, warming tonics that support this natural hormonal transition and pacify the Vata dosha. 1. Sukumaram Kashayam Dosage: 15 ml mixed with 15 ml of warm water. Time: Twice daily, 30 minutes before meals (empty stomach). Action: This is the ultimate formulation for women’s reproductive health during perimenopause. It deeply nourishes the uterus, clears Vata blockages in the lower abdomen and gently regulates the cycle without causing heavy bleeding. 2. Kumaryasava Dosage: 15 ml mixed with 15 ml of warm water. Time: Twice daily, 15 minutes after meals. Action: A fermented Aloe Vera tonic that naturally balances your shifting hormones, improves digestion, and helps safely induce the delayed menstrual flow. ✓Crucial Dietary Rules Stop Cold Foods: You must temporarily stop eating cold store-bought sandwiches and pasta. Cold, dry foods severely aggravate Vata, constrict your blood vessels, and delay the period further. Switch strictly to warm, freshly cooked, and lightly spiced meals (like warm soups, stews, or cooked vegetables). ✓To satisfy your sugar cravings in a medicinal way, eat a small piece of dark Jaggery mixed with 1 teaspoon of Black Sesame seeds every morning. This creates a natural, mild heat in the body that actively encourages the period to start. Regards Dr Gursimran Jeet Singh MD Panchakarma

Hello Faiza I can understand your concern regarding -Missed periods (Periods been late by 8 days) it can naturally make your worried but the good news is that you have taken pregenacy test and it is negative so don’t worry we are here to help you out =Understanding your concern please understand you are above 40 there will be hormonal fluctuation in modern terms it can be termed as perimenopausal changes also it can be due to temporary hormonal fluctuation =Can we consider this normal? Yes A delay in single cycle can be due to -Ovulation delay or stress Since it is just once and your pregnancy test is negative There is no need to worry With proper treatment we can get your periods back on track =What Should you do now? -Wait for more 7-10 days Periods will naturally come -Repeat preganacy test after 7 days (no need actually but to be sure its better to repeat) -Support natural periods -Drink warm water daily -Take 1 tsp of ghee daily -Do gentle oil massage on your abdomen =Ayurvedic Plan of treatment -Kumaryasava 15 ml twice daily after food =Diet plan Include -Warm , freshly prepared food -Sesame seeds -Jaggery -Have papaya At your age, getting one cycle delayed is very common and can be managed very well Wishing you a good health Warm Regards Dr Snehal Vidhate

As you are over 40 years and you are experienceing delete period with negative pregnancy test and also you having regular cycles This condition is pointing towards the vata Pitta imbalance And also signal in the transition towards Menopause or temporary hormonal fluctuation 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 1) Sukumaran kwath- 15 ml with 45 ml lukewarm water twice daily 30 minutes before food 2) kumaryasavam- 20 ml with equal quantity of water twice daily after food 3) raja pravartini vati - 2 tab twice daily With warm water 4) sukumar ghritam- one teaspoon early morning on empty stomach 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 Consume freshly cooked, warm meals. Avoid cold salads, ice-cold drinks, or dry, processed snacks. Incorporate sesame seeds (Til), jaggery (Gur), and papaya into the diet. Use ginger, cumin, fenugreek, and fennel in cooking to aid digestion and movement of Vata. Drink warm water throughout the day. Avoid caffeine and carbonated drinks which can further aggravate Vata

Hello, Given your situation- very regular cycles, now ~8 days late, negative test, age over 40 - this is most likely a hormonal shift, often linked to perimenopausal rather than pregnancy What’s happening -Late periods= vata imbalance (irregularity) + possible apana vata disturbance (downward flow of menstruation) QUICK TIPS 1) warmth + routine (very important) -sleep on time, eat on time -avoid cold foods/drinks -keep body warm especially lower abdomen 2) Simple home remedies -Ginger tea (fresh ginger boiled in water)-> 1-2 cups daily -Ajwain water-> helps stimulate flow -Sesame seeds-> 1 tsp daily supports hormones 3) Gentle abdominal oil massage -use warm sesame oil -massage lower belly before bath-> improves circulation 4) Stress + nervous system calm -Even if you feel no changes , body may still sense subtle stress -try light yoga or walking Important -Repeat pregnancy test in 3-5 days just to be sure This doesn’t look alarming- very common around 40+. Ayurveda focuses on restoring rhythm, warmth, and flow Do follow Hope this might be helpful Thank you
