First off, it’s totally normal to feel a bit out of sorts with all this newness going on. You’re right, the NST (Non-Stress Test) checks your baby’s wellbeing by looking at their heart rate and response to movements. It gives insights into how well your baby is getting oxygen among other things. Basically if the heart rate doesn’t increase with movements, maybe it points to an issue… but sometimes it’s just sleepy vibes from the baby.
Now, stress can mess with things, for sure. Anxiety may not directly alter results, but if you’re tense, you might not feel every little move the baby makes. Doc’s know this happens though, so try not to stress over stressing. If results aren’t reactive, they might suggest another test like a BPP (biophysical profile) before considering next steps, induction isn’t always instant.
Babies can be sleeping, yup, during the test, which can lead to non-reactive results. Was there juice involved? Some swear by a bit of sugar or cold drink to pep the baby up – legit gears turning advice, though individual response can vary.
Now for the Ayurveda bits, cool that you’re sipping saffron milk, known to be nourishing. Ashwagandha is generally beneficial too, but always keep your doc in the loop especially with pregnancies. I’d say, gently massaging your belly with sesame oil or incorporating light yoga can help maintain a balanced state both for you and baby.
For calmness you might try some simple pranayama (breathing exercises), just a few slow, deep breaths before or during the test. It’s lovely for the unwind factor. Do consult with your doctor about herbal concoctions if you’re thinking of trying anything new. Always good to keep that line open.
And as for sharing experiences, every mum’s journey is different. Chat with your healthcare provider about any concerns. Your body is doing an incredible thing, and being a tad anxious is part of the package. Sending you calm and good vibes!
