In Ayurveda, addressing anal fissures involves a holistic approach which may include oral remedies, lifestyle adjustments, and dietary changes. Triphala churna is a widely recommended oral medicine in Ayurveda for such conditions. It works by improving digestion, enhancing bowel movements, and promoting healing. For your condition, you can take one teaspoon of Triphala churna mixed with warm water before bedtime. This helps to soften stools, reduce strain, and aid in the healing of fissures.
Since fissures often stem from chronic constipation, increasing your water intake and dietary fiber is crucial. Consume warm fluids throughout the day and include vegetables like pumpkin, ash gourd, or leafy greens, which help regularize bowel movements. Ghee can also be taken with meals to lubricate the intestines.
Alternatively, Gandharvahastadi kashayam is an Ayurvedic decoction known to aid digestion and relieve discomfort associated with fissures. This should be taken as per Ayurvedic practitioner’s specific instructions, typically about 15-30 ml mixed with equal warm water before meals.
Ensuring proper relaxation and stress management can also be helpful. Practices such as yoga or pranayama can improve digestion and enhance body’s healing capacity, aiding in recovery from fissures.
However, these recommendations should not replace prescribed medications or treatments followed by immediate medical advice. If discomfort persists or symptoms worsen, it’s important you consult a healthcare provider to prevent further complications. Emergency care may be essential if there’s significant pain, bleeding, or signs of infection, to protect your overall health and well-being.
