Choosing Between Abhayarishta and Abhayamrita for Slow Motility - #50443
Abhayarishta versus abhayamrita I suffer from slow motility and incomplete evacuation of stool and am Vata dosha. I am wondering if abhayamrita might be better for my condition. I also do not have a gallbladder. I am currently using abhayarishta but am curious if abhayamrita might be a better option for me. Thank you

Hello, I am glad you understand your body this well and is curious about the medicines. So abhayamrita is a little more potent carminative than abhayarishta because of its contents. Abhayarishta while doing agni deepana and vatanulomana, is milder and has pitta shamaka property also. If you have any burning sensation or belching stick with abhayarishta. If not abhayamrita
– firstly one important thing I always say to many patients that don’t self medicate to any medicine, it’s a myth that ayurveda has no side-effects if taken improper dose, or improper manner can do some side effects so plz don’t… – now as per your question. -Abhayarishta is gentle and works well for Vata constipation. Abhayamrita is stronger and may help with slow bowel movements and incomplete evacuation. Since you don’t have a gallbladder, it’s best to start gradually and watch for loose stools or discomfort. You can try it in small doses and continue lifestyle measures like warm water, light cooked foods, and gentle abdominal massage.
