Doctors' responses
According to Ayurveda, your symptoms of indigestion (Ajirna), gas, bloating (Adhmana), hard pebble-like stools, and bowel movements only every 2–3 days commonly indicate Vata aggravation in the colon (Pakwashaya) along with Mandagni (low digestive fire). When Vata becomes dry and obstructed, stools become hard, dry, and pellet-like, causing constipation, bloating, and discomfort. Can Anuloma DS help? Anuloma DS is generally used to promote the downward movement of Vata (Anulomana), relieve constipation, reduce gas, and improve bowel evacuation. It may help with: Hard, pebble-like stools Constipation Gas and bloating Abdominal heaviness due to accumulated Vata However, the effectiveness depends on the underlying cause, your constitution (Prakriti), diet, hydration, and severity of constipation. Ayurvedic Management 1. Improve Agni (Digestive Fire) Before focusing only on laxatives, strengthen digestion: Sip warm water throughout the day. Take a small piece of fresh ginger with a pinch of rock salt before meals if suitable. Use cumin, coriander, fennel, and ajwain in cooking. Eat meals at regular times. 2. Dietary Advice Prefer: Warm, freshly cooked foods Moong dal khichdi Vegetable soups Stewed apples or soaked raisins Cooked vegetables with a little ghee Avoid: Cold foods and drinks Excess tea, coffee, and packaged foods Dry snacks, chips, biscuits Excess cheese and heavy fried foods 3. For Constipation and Pebble Stools Take 1–2 teaspoons of ghee in warm milk at bedtime if tolerated. Ensure adequate water intake during the day. Soak 5–10 raisins overnight and consume them in the morning. 4. Lifestyle Measures Walk for 20–30 minutes daily. Avoid suppressing the urge to pass stool. Maintain a consistent sleep schedule. Gentle abdominal massage with warm sesame oil may help reduce Vata.
