YES AYURVEDA CAN TREAT COLITIS AND ESOPHAGITIS TOGETHER BUT THE APPROACH MUST BE VERY CAREFUL BECAUSE IN YOUR CASE THERE IS CLEAR PREDOMINANCE OF PITTA WITH SENSITIVITY OF THE UPPER GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT KUTAJ PARPATI IS EXCELLENT FOR GRAHANI AND COLITIS ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE IS DIARRHEA AND AMA BUT IT IS TIKTA KASHAYA AND HAS DRYING AND SOMEWHAT SHARP QUALITY IF YOUR ESOPHAGUS IS ALREADY INFLAMED IT CAN IRRITATE THE FOOD PIPE AND WORSEN BURNING AND REFLUX THIS MEANS YOUR UPPER TRACT PITTA IS NOT CALM WHEN THERE IS SEVERE BURNING FROM CHEST TO THROAT FIRST PRIORITY IS TO HEAL AND COOL THE ESOPHAGEAL LINING WITHOUT AGGRAVATING COLON IN SUCH CONDITION YASHTIMADHU IS VERY IMPORTANT IT COATS AND HEALS THE MUCOSA YOU CAN TAKE YASHTIMADHU CHURNA HALF TEASPOON WITH LUKEWARM MILK OR WATER TWICE DAILY PROVIDED YOU DO NOT HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE SHATAVARI CHURNA IS ALSO EXCELLENT FOR PITTA SHAMANA AND MUCOSAL HEALING IT REDUCES BURNING AND SUPPORTS BOTH STOMACH AND INTESTINE AMALAKI POWDER IN SMALL DOSE CAN HELP BECAUSE IT IS COOLING YET IMPROVES DIGESTION WITHOUT INCREASING ACID FOR COLITIS WITH PITTA INVOLVEMENT BILVA IS USEFUL BUT BAELGIRI POWDER IS MORE ASTRINGENT AND DRY IF YOUR STOOLS ARE LOOSE WITH BURNING IT CAN HELP BUT IF THERE IS ALREADY DRYNESS OR CONSTIPATION IT MAY WORSEN VATA SO DOSE MUST BE SMALL AND MONITORED IN YOUR CASE FIRST CALM PITTA IN UPPER TRACT THEN GENTLY SUPPORT COLON DO NOT USE VERY DRYING OR STRONG GRAHI MEDICINES UNTIL BURNING REDUCES DIET IS VERY IMPORTANT AVOID COMPLETELY SPICY FRIED SOUR FERMENTED FOOD TEA COFFEE TOMATO VINEGAR PICKLES BAKERY ITEMS EAT SOFT RICE MOONG DAL BOILED VEGETABLES SMALL AMOUNT OF GHEE TAKE FOOD AT REGULAR TIME DO NOT LIE DOWN IMMEDIATELY AFTER EATING SIP WARM WATER NOT VERY HOT YOU CAN BOIL FENNEL AND DRINK THROUGH DAY TO REDUCE BOTH PITTA AND VATA

HELLO, You have chronic colitis + esophagitis (>6 months) with reflux and throat burning. This usually indicates -pitta aggravation (acid, burning, reflux) -along with Grahani /colitis type bowel weakness -possible hypersensitivity of upper GI tract If kutaj Parpati vati is increasing throat burning, it maybe -too heating for your current pitta state -increasing upward pitta (acid reflux) So yes- Ayurveda can manage both together, but the approach must be cooling + healing + mild gut-stabilising not strong astringent / heating first 1) FIRST CALM PITTA AND HEAL ESOHAPAGUS (2-4 weeks priority) Instead of Kutaj intially -YASHTIMADHU POWDER= 1/2 tsp lukewarm milk twice daily after meals =heals oesophagus lining, reduces burning, good for reflux -SHATAVARI CHURNA= 1/2 tsp twice daily iwith water =excellent for acid + colitis together, cooling + mucosal healing -PRAVAL PISHTI= 125 mg twice daily after meals with honey =strong pitta pacifier 2) FOR COLITIS Instead of Kutaj parpati initially use -BILVA CHURNA= 1/2 tsp once daily after meals YES- you can try it =mildly astringent, less irritating than kutaj, good for loose motions + inflammation If constipation happens-> reduce dose 3) BEST COMBINED FORMULA OPTION If you want something that treats both together -SUTSEKHAR RAS= 1 tab twice daily after meals AVOID -Kutaj parpati while active reflux burning -spicy, sour, fermented food -tea/coffee -eating late night -lying down immediately after meals DIET -soft rice + moong dal -ghee small quantity -boiled vegetables bottle gourd, pumpkin -warm water only AVOID -curd -pickle -fried food -citrus food DURATION -Minimum 6-8weeks for proper mucosal healing Chronic cases take 3 months for stable results IMPORTANT MEDICAL NOTE If you have been diagnosed with -Ulcerative colitis -severe GERD -Barrett’s esophagus Please continue modern treatment alongside. Ayurveda can be supportive, not a replacement in severe cases DO FOLLOW HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL THANK YOU

–Yes — but treatment must be Pitta-soothing and mucosa-healing, not just anti-diarrheal. –Chronic colitis and esophagitis can both be managed in Ayurveda, but the medicines must be chosen carefully. Kutaj Parpati may help colitis but can worsen acid reflux and throat burning in some patients. –Rx 1. tab amalpittanktak yog 1 tab BD after meal 2. tab coolant 1 tab BD after meal 3. syrup amalpit mishran 1 tsf TDS after meal 4. Yashtimadu churn 1/2 tsf before meal 5. U can use beal powder also but mild dose 1/2 tsf twice daily after meal — avoid spicy , fried food — stay hydrated Follow up after 15 days

Yes, Ayurveda can treat both together, but strong medicines like kutaj parpati may increase throat burning because they are drying and can aggravate pitta In your case, use soothing medicines instead Yasthimadhu and shatavari are better as they oesophagus and also calm colon inflammation You can take Bilvadi churna half teaspoon with warm water at morning Avoid spicy sour, fried food and long fasting

Avoid sour, spicy, fried, and fermented foods (they aggravate both colitis and reflux). Sip warm water frequently; avoid very cold drinks. Small, frequent meals are better than large portions. ADV: Takra (buttermilk) with roasted cumin and rock salt in small amounts helps colitis.

Yes, Ayurveda can treat colitis + esophagitis together , but Kutaj Parpati Vati is too heating/drying for esophagitis as it aggravates throat/chest burning & reflux in Pitta-dominant cases. ✓Recommended safe combination Kamadhudha Ras (Moti Yukta) – 250–500 mg twice daily with cold water (after meals) Sutshekhar Ras (Sada) – 1 tablet twice daily after meals Avipattikar Churna – 3 gm at bedtime with warm water Baelgiri Powder (Bilva fruit pulp) – 2–3 gm (½–1 tsp) twice daily after meals with warm water ✓Daily Must-Do Vajrasana 10 min after every meal Cold fennel (saunf) water sip all day (2–2.5 L) Head elevated sleep (2 pillows) Dinner before 7 pm, no lying down for 2 hours after eating ✓Diet Only: thin moong khichdi + little ghee, boiled lauki/pumpkin, pomegranate, coconut water, thin buttermilk + roasted jeera Avoid completely: spicy/sour, garlic/onion, tomato, citrus, fried, tea/coffee, cold drinks, late dinner Regards Dr Gursimran Jeet Singh MD Panchakarma
