Namaste, At your age, digestion becomes a little slower, especially at night. Since you are getting burning in the chest after eating banana at night, it shows that your stomach is sensitive in the late hours. Guava is slightly heavy and high in fiber, so eating it at night may cause gas or mild acidity. It is better to avoid guava at night. Try to finish your dinner a little earlier, preferably before 8–8:30 PM. Keep dinner light and warm. Avoid fruits at night. If you feel hungry, you can take a small cup of warm milk (if it suits you) or light soup. Since your burning started only recently and is mild, simple changes in meal timing and avoiding fruits at night may help. u can have 1 tsf avipattikar choornam at bedtime with 1 cup warm water. If it continues regularly, then you can consult for proper guidance.

Guava is usually safe, but it’s slightly acidic. Eat a small, fully ripe guava at least 2–3 hours before bedtime, and avoid lying down immediately after eating to prevent heartburn.

According to Ayurvedic principles, it is generally not recommended to eat guava at night. The burning sensation you experience after eating a banana at night is likely Amlapitta (Acid Reflux/GERD)---- Late Meals: You mentioned eating after 10 PM. In Ayurveda, the period between 10 PM and 2 AM is dominated by Pitta (heat/fire). Eating heavy or sour-sweet fruits like bananas during this time interferes with the body’s natural cooling process, causing the “burning” or “acidic” rise in the chest. Fermentation: When a heavy fruit like a banana sits in a slow-moving digestive tract at night, it can ferment, leading to the bloating you’ve noticed.

HELLO, For a 70 year old person with chest burning at night, Ayurveda would advise a little caution with fruits late at night- especially if digestion is already sensitive 1) GUAVA AT NIGHT Guava is considered heavy to digest, cooling, high in fiber Because of this , eating guava at night is generally not recommended, especially if -Digestion is weak -You already experienced acid reflux, chest burning, or bloating At night the digestive fire is naturally weaker, so heavy fruits like guava may -cause gas or bloating -increase acid reflux -lead to chest burning 2) YOUR SYMPTOMS (burning chest after banana) If banana causes chest burning at night, it suggests possible acid reflux or weak night digestion. Guava may also trigger similar discomfort 3) BETTER WAY IF YOU WANT TO EAT GUAVA If you like guava -eat it in the morning or afternoon -eat 1-2 hours after breakfast or lunch -avoid after dinner 4) NIGHT TIME AYURVEDIC TIPS FOR BURNING CHEST Try these simple habits -Finish dinner before 8-8:30 pm (10pm is quite late for digestion) -eat light dinner khichdi, soup, soft vegetables -drink warm water after meals -take 1/2 tsp fennel seeds after dinner AVOID AT NIGHT= banana , guava, citrus fruits, fried or spicy foods 5) SIMPLE REMEDY Before bed -take 1/2 tsp fennel powder + warm water or -drink lukewarm milk with a pinch of cardamom These can help reduce acidic burning and bloating DO FOLLOW HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL THANK YOU

Yes guava is safe at night. ✓Best time: 7–9 PM (not after 10 PM) = give stomach 2–3 hours before lying down. Quantity: 1 small or ½ medium ripe guava (avoid unripe/green = too acidic). ✓Eat with skin (more fiber) or peel if very sensitive; chew well; avoid on completely empty stomach. Pair with: Small pinch roasted jeera or fennel seeds (reduces any gas/bloating). ✓Avoid banana at night completely for now Banana is heavy, sweet & mucus-forming (Kapha increasing) = worsens late-night reflux & bloating in elderly. If craving fruit at night = guava or pomegranate (small amount) is far better. ✓Quick fixes for your burning chest & late meals Dinner before 8 PM (shift last meal earlier) = most important change. Head elevated sleep (2 pillows or bed wedge). Warm fennel water sip after dinner (1 tsp fennel boiled in 1 cup water). ✓Kamadhudha Ras 250 mg at bedtime with cold water (if burning persists).
