Hello, It is encouraging to hear that your father has recovered from paralysis, but the symptoms you’re describing trembling, jerking, and excessive salivation (sialorrhea) suggest a post-stroke neurological condition often viewed in Ayurveda as a severe Vata imbalance affecting the Majja Dhatu (nervous system). In Ayurveda, this is classified under Vata Vyadhi (nervous system disorders). The trembling (Kampa) and salivation indicate that the “wind” element is disturbed in the brain and motor channels. Treatment focuses on calming the nerves, improving cerebral blood flow, and strengthening the nervous tissue. Ayurveda Medicines 1. Ksheerabala (101) Capsules Action: A potent nerve tonic used for tremors and neurological rejuvenation. Dose: 1 capsule twice daily, before food with warm water. 2. Balarishta Action: Strengthens the muscles and nerves while balancing Vata. Dose: 15–20 ml mixed with an equal quantity of lukewarm water, twice daily after food. 3. Saraswatarishta Action: Specifically targets brain health and coordination; helps control involuntary movements. Dose: 15 ml with equal water, twice daily after food (can be taken alongside Balarishta). 4. Mahamashadi Thailam (External) Action: For the trembling hand. Usage: Apply gently on the left hand and neck area once a day; follow with a warm towel compress. Ensure he sits upright. Sip warm water infused with a pinch of Dry Ginger to help clear excess secretions. At 83, any new regimen should be monitored closely.

This is post-stroke neurological tremor with vata aggravation. Needs vata-shamana and nervine support. Internal medicines Ashwagandha churna 3 g twice daily with warm milk Brahmi vati 1 tablet twice daily Ksheerabala 101 avarti 5 drops in milk twice daily For tremors/jerking: Saraswatarishta 15 ml with equal water after meals twice daily External: Daily gentle Mahanarayan taila abhyanga on body Ksheerabala taila for head massage + mild shiro abhyanga If saliva drooling: Vacha churna 250 mg with honey once daily Diet: Warm, soft, easily digestible food Avoid cold, dry, vata aggravating diet

This is a post-stroke (Vata disorder) condition, where nerves remain sensitive even after recovery. Trembling, jerking and saliva flow indicate residual neurological imbalance, which needs gentle long-term support, not aggressive treatment. Continue all prescribed medicines—do not stop them. Keep his routine calm and regular. Avoid stress, loud environment, and sudden movements. Diet should be: Warm, soft, easy to digest (khichdi, dal, cooked vegetables) Avoid dry, cold, and stale food At home: Daily gentle oil massage (sesame oil or medicated oil) on hands, feet, and scalp Followed by mild warm water bath At night, apply oil on soles for better sleep Simple breathing exercises if possible Ashwagandha tablet – 1 tablet at bedtime Brahmi vati – 1 tablet twice daily Ekangveer ras – 1 tablet twice daily (after food) Dashmoolarishta – 10 ml with equal water after meals This will help in calming nerves, reducing tremors gradually, and improving sleep and strength. Recovery in such cases is slow, but with consistency symptoms can reduce. If jerking increases or new symptoms appear, neurological review is important. Regards, Dr Raghuveer (Ayurvedacharya)

Hello, After a brain stroke, symptoms like -trembling/ jerking hand -saliva drooling -triggered by stress Suggest post stroke neurological sequelae (often similar to tremor disorder or focal seizure/ movement disorder) First important point Since symptoms are -severe -ongoing for 6+ months -with saliva involvement He should be reviewed by a neurologist again To rule out -post stroke tremor -seizure activity -parkinsonian changes Do Not rely only on home treatment Ayurvedic view -Vata aggravation in Majja (nervous system) -post stroke = pakshaghata residual vata disorder -tremors= kampa vata Ayurvedic management 1) Main nerve stabilizer -Ashwagandha= 1 cap twice daily with milk after meals =reduces tremors. + improves strength 2) Strong vata control -Mahayogaraj guggulu= 2 tabs twice daily after meals =helps in chronic neurological weakness 3) Brain nourishment -Brahmi ghrita= 1/2 tsp with warm milk at bedtime =supports coordination + cognition 4) Brihat vata chintamani ras= 1 tab twice daily after meals External therapies -daily massage with Ksheerbala taila =calms nerves + reduces tremors -Follow with mild heat (steam) External therapy is as important as medicines Diet -warm, soft meals -ghee small amount daily -easily digestible meals Avoid -dry, cold meals -irregular eating Lifestyle -keep him calm and stress free (trigger in your case) -gentle physiotherapy -good sleep routine Expected improvement -2-4 weeks= slight reduction in tremor intensity -6-8 weeks= better control + calmness Full reversal may not be possible, but significant improvement is achievable Condition= post stroke vata neurological disorder Treatment -neurology follow up must -Ayurveda for support -Oil therapy + calming routine Do follow Hope this might be helpful Thank you

At his age, the brain tissues are naturally depleted, making the nerves hyper-sensitive to stress and anxiety, which directly triggers the uncontrollable tremors. The numbness and interrupted sleep further confirm that his central nervous system is exhausted and struggling to calm down. The excess salivation occurs because the damaged nerves controlling his facial and swallowing muscles spasm and lose control during these anxiety-triggered episodes. ✓Ayurvedic Action Plan Ksheerabala 101 Soft Gel Capsules Dosage: 1 capsule twice a day. Time: 30 minutes after breakfast and dinner. Vehicle: A cup of warm milk. Kapikacchu Churna Dosage: Half a teaspoon once a day. Time: At night, 30 minutes before going to sleep. Vehicle: Mixed into warm milk. Brahmi Vati Dosage: 1 tablet twice a day. Time: Taken alongside the Ksheerabala capsules. Vehicle: Normal water. ✓Crucial Care Rules Daily Oil Massage: Gently massage his left arm, hand, and feet with warm Mahanarayan Taila or simple warm Sesame Oil every night before bed. This physical application of warm oil instantly grounds the hyperactive Vata and reduces the tingling weakness. Manage the Bloating: The occasional bloating means Vata is trapped in the gut, which pushes upward and worsens nerve tremors. Give him half a teaspoon of Triphala Churna with warm water at bedtime to ensure his bowels clear easily every morning. Choking Precautions: Because he experiences sudden saliva pooling and facial spasms, always serve him very soft, warm and easily digestible foods (like khichdi or mashed vegetables) to prevent any risk of choking during a jerking episode.
