Amla alone is not sufficient to treat neuropathy. Neuropathy (numbness + shooting pain) usually involves nerve weakness and Vata imbalance, so treatment needs deeper nerve support, not just one herb. Amla can help as a supportive antioxidant, but it will not significantly reduce pain or numbness by itself. Focus on improving nerve strength and circulation. Keep diet warm, nourishing, and regular. Avoid cold exposure and dry foods. At home, daily warm oil massage (sesame oil) on hands and feet is very helpful. Gentle walking and keeping nerves active is important. Ashwagandha tablet – 1 tablet twice daily after food Yograj Guggulu – 1 tablet twice daily after food B-complex (if advised by your doctor) Amla can be taken as support: Amla tablet – 1 tablet daily This combination works better for nerve health and symptom relief. If pain is severe and long-standing, proper evaluation (like diabetes, B12 levels) is also important. Regards, Dr Raghuveer (Ayurvedacharya)

Your symptoms are due to aggravated Vata Dosha affecting the nerves (called Vata Vyadhi). This causes numbness, tingling, and shooting pain. Amla helps by nourishing the body and balancing Vata and Pitta, but it works slowly and is supportive, not a complete cure. Treatment should focus on Vata balance through proper diet, digestion improvement, herbal support, and therapies like oil massage (Abhyanga) — do some blood tests Vt.
