how old is your daughter and whats the frequency of symptoms? does the sneezing start in the mornings or only on exposure to dust or any other stimulus? what all reports have you done yet? I am assuming she also might be having a deviated septum or turbinate hypertrophy. how is her appetite? does she complains of gastric discomfort often. any headaches or heaviness of head associated with symptom flares? i have advised 4 medications for the initial management of the symptoms and please follow this regimen for 2 weeks the kashayam needs to be taken 10 ml mixed with 30 ml warm water every thrice daily or you can mix 40 ml kashaya into 1 litre warm water and drink it through out the day. the tab can be take 1/2 an hour before food twice daily one tablet at a time. the choorna 5 gm is to be mixed with equal quantity of the rasayana paste and to be take in morning empty stomach and night at bed time. instill 2 drops of this oil into the nostril with a dropper initially and gradually increase the dose to 6 drops by 7 days and then reduce the dose back to 2 drops in another 7 days. apply karuthavatt tablet paste over nose and sinus regions
Allergic rhinitis with sinusitis and nasal polyps is a chronic inflammatory condition, so treatment needs to be gentle, consistent, and focused on reducing allergy and swelling rather than quick relief. Avoid triggers like dust, cold exposure, strong smells, and refrigerated foods. Keep her diet warm and light. Avoid curd at night, cold drinks, and packaged foods. Steam inhalation once daily with plain water can help clear sinuses. Keep her head and neck warm. If blockage is not too severe, mild nasal oiling can be started, but avoid strong nasya if there is heavy congestion. At home, turmeric milk at night and warm water through the day can help reduce allergy tendency. Haridra khanda – 1 teaspoon twice daily after food Sitopaladi churna – ½ teaspoon with honey twice daily Talisadi churna – ½ teaspoon with honey twice daily This will help reduce allergic response, mucus formation, and improve breathing gradually. Since polyps are present, regular follow-up is important. In some cases, combined medical approach may be needed if obstruction increases. Regards, Dr Raghuveer (Ayurvedacharya)
Hi Plz tell your daughter’s age according to that I prescribed the dose
Allergic Rhinitis with Chronic Sinusitis & Nasal Polyps can be correlated in Ayurveda mainly with Pratishyaya, Dushta Pratishyaya, Peenasa, and Kapha-Vata dushti involving Urdhwajatrugata Roga. 1) Haridrakhandam 1/4 to 1 teaspoon twice daily after food with lukewarm water or honey. 2) Sitopaladi Churna + Godanti Bhasma Small pediatric dose twice daily with honey. 3) Septilin Syrup / Immunity-support herbal syrup Age-appropriate dose twice daily after food. 4) Tribhuvan Kirti / Talisadi support If recurrent cold tendency . 5) Anu Taila / Shadbindu Taila 1–2 drops each nostril in morning after steam, if child can tolerate. 6)Mild Steam Inhalation With plain water once daily. 7) Nasya Karma Most useful in chronic sinusitis/polyps. Useful Advice ✔ Keep bedroom dust-free ✔ Wash bedsheets regularly in hot water ✔ Use saline rinse if child tolerates ✔ Encourage nasal breathing habits ✔ Pranayama only gentle age-appropriate breathing games ✔ Maintain bowel regularity Nasal polyps can significantly block breathing and may need ENT evaluation for size, adenoids, asthma association, and hearing/sleep effects. Ayurveda can be supportive, but assessment is important.
Hello, I understand how challenging chronic respiratory issues can be, especially when they lead to complications like nasal polyps. In Ayurveda, these conditions are often viewed as Peenasa or Nasa Arshas, primarily involving an imbalance of Kapha and Vata doshas along with accumulated toxins (Ama). To address this, the focus is on reducing inflammation, clearing the channels (Shrotas), and boosting local immunity. Kapha-Vata Balance: Polyps are considered “extra growths” caused by aggravated Kapha. Digestive Fire: Improving Agni is crucial to prevent the mucus production that fuels sinusitis. Medicine : 1. Tablet: Varunadi Kwath Tablet This is traditionally used to clear growths and reduce inflammatory congestion. Dose: 2 tablets twice daily, 30 minutes before food with warm water. 2. Tablet: Karpooradi Vati Excellent for clearing the respiratory passage and managing acute rhinitis symptoms. Dose: 1 tablet to be sucked or chewed twice daily after food. 3. Liquid: Dasamoolarishtam Helps improve immunity and reduces the Vata imbalance associated with chronic sinusitis. Dose: 15–20 ml mixed with an equal amount of lukewarm water, twice daily after food. 4. Oil (External/Nasal): Anu Thailam A vital therapy (Nasya) for chronic sinusitis and polyps. It helps lubricate the nasal passage and encourages the shrinking of polyps over time. Dose: 2 drops in each nostril every morning. (Note: Do not use during a high fever or acute infection). Important Considerations Avoid cold drinks, curd, sweets, and heavy “mucus-forming” foods. Prefer warm, freshly cooked meals with ginger and turmeric.
1.Haridrakhand 1 tsp with warm milk in morning before meals 2.Sitopaladi Churna 1/2 tsp twice daily with honey 3.Chyawanprash 1 tsp with warm milk empty stomach in the morning 4.Kanchnar guggulu 1 tab twice daily with water after meals 4.Anu taila- 2 drops in each nostril once in the morning after lukewarm water gargle Diet & Lifestyle Avoid cold, sour, and heavy foods (curd, cold drinks, fried snacks). Favor warm, light meals: moong dal soup, rice, cooked vegetables. Use spices like turmeric, ginger, black pepper in moderation. Steam inhalation with tulsi leaves or ajwain seeds. Practice Pranayama (Anulom-Vilom, Kapalabhati if tolerated).
Hello, Long standing allergic rhinits with sinusitis often reflects a chronic pattern in Ayurveda involving disturbed immune system reactivity (similar to hypersensitivity) ,excess kapha (mucus, congestion), and often vata involvement (dryness, irritation, recurrent sneezing). If symptoms are longstanding, recurrent, sneezing). Allergic rhinitis This is when the nose overreacts to triggers like dust, polle, weather changes, mites, mold, perfumes, or smoke. The inside lining of the nose becomes inflamed Common symptoms -repeated sneezing -itchy nose/throat -watery discharge -nose blockage -post nasal drip (mucus drippping backward) -head heaviness -disturbed sleep Sinusitis The sinuses are air spaces in the skull around the nose. If drainage gets blocked, mucus can stagnate, leading to pressure, facial pain, thick mucus, headache, and recurrent infection Ayurvedic view Often this is -Kapha aggravation= excess mucus, heaviness, blockage -Vata aggravation= dryness, sneezing, variable symptoms -sometime sama (poorly processed metabolic waste. toxic load) contributes to chronic recurrece Treatment goals -reduce allergic overreactivity -decrease mucus formation -improve sinus drainage -reduce frequency of recurrence -improve immunity and mucosal resilience -support long term control, not just symptoms suppression Internal medication 1) Haridra khanda= 1 tsp with warm milk twice daily =help reduce inflammatory reactivity, supports respiratory pathways 2) Sitopaladi churna= 1/2 tsp with honey twice daily after meals =helps with kapha, mucus, throat irritation, useful when post nasal drip is prominent 3) Talisadi churna= 1/2 tsp with warm water twice daily after meals =supports expectoration, helps heaviness/congestion patterns 4) Gandhak rasayana= 1 tab twice daily after meals =sometimes used in recurrent allergic patterns and chronic skin respiratory reactivity Anu taila= 2 drops in each nostril daily morning =supports nasal mucosal, helps lubrication, reslience, and may reduce recurrence External application 1) Steam inhalation= warm nott excessively hot -can help losen mucus 2) Warm compress over sinus region= can help pressure/heaviness Avoid Triggers -dust exposure -old mattresses pillows -damp romms, mold -strong perfumes -incense. smoke -cold refrigerated foods if they worsen congestion -sudden temperature shifts Home environment -hot water wash bedding weekly -reduce stuffed toys collecting dust -consider HEPA filtration if feasible -keep indoor humidity balanced too damp can worsen mold Sleep= adequate sleep helps immune balance Hydration= maintain good fluid intake unless otherwise medically restricted Yoga and pranayam -Anulom vilom= may support nasal airflow balance -Bhramari=can be soothing for airway irritation -Nadi sodhana= may support autonomic balance Yoga -bhujangasana -setu bandhasana -balasana DIET -warm, freshly prepared fods -light, easy to digest meals -warm soups -ginger -turmeric in food -tulsi infusion Avoid -excess cold foods -ice creams -very heavy dairy -very sugary foods -packaged processed foods Home remedies -Warm water with turmeric= traditionally use -tulsi steam Do follow Hope this might be helpful Thank you
