Pregnancy infertility, thyroid treatment - #27306

rak

have thyroid and I am taking 25 mcg tablet. All my reports are normal. Uterus is normal with no cyst or fibroid, and tubes are open. My periods are regular with a 30-day cycle, but I am not getting pregnant. I don’t have PCOD. My AMH is 1.25. In follicular study, my egg size was 23×16. My husband had varicocele and underwent microsurgery 5 months ago. Before surgery, his sperm motility was 10%. Now it has slightly increased, but morphology is still low. I am 30 years old and my husband is 43. Doctors are suggesting IVF with ICSI. What should we do?

“Thank you for sharing all your details. From your reports, I can see many positive factors — your thyroid is well-managed, uterus and tubes are healthy, cycles are regular, and your egg growth is good. These are strong foundations for pregnancy. 🙌

After varicocele surgery, sperm quality (motility and morphology) often takes 6–12 months to show full improvement. So, it is still early, and progress can continue. Many couples in a similar situation conceive naturally or with minimal support during this recovery window.

Your AMH shows you have a fair reserve, and the follicle size you mentioned indicates healthy ovulation. What’s the most important now is focusing on: ✔ Supporting sperm recovery and motility ✔ Enhancing egg quality and uterine receptivity ✔ Maintaining thyroid balance and cycle regularity

✨ IVF with ICSI is definitely an option, but it is usually considered if natural chances or mild supportive treatments are not working. Right now, you still have scope for improvement before directly stepping into IVF.

🌿 With the right guidance for both partners at this stage, the chances of conception can improve significantly — naturally or with minimal assistance.

Hello I can understand your concern but dont worry we are here to help you out

✅AYURVEDIC PERSPECTIVE

Your case shows- ✔️Thyroid dysfunction (though now controlled) but it slows metabolism amd ovulation energy ✔️Low AMH (1.25) - reduced ovarian reserve, but egg growth is happening (23×16 size seen) ✔️Male factor infertility (low sperm motility & morphology despite surgery)

➡️IVF-ICSI is suggested because both egg quality (low AMH) & sperm parameters are compromise.

Ayurveda can be used either: ✅Before IVF to improve egg quality and sperm health, increasing chances of success ✅As a natural attempt for 6–9 months before deciding on IVF

With proper TREATMENT and PANCHAKARMA it is possible visit near by Ayurvedic physician for EXAMINATION and

✅ AYURVEDIC PLAN OF TREATMENT-

1. For You (Age 30)

✅INTERNAL MEDICATION- 1 Phala Ghrita 1 tsp with warm milk in morning (Improves ovarian health, fertility tonic) 2 Ashokarishta 20ML-0-20ML with water after food (Regulates hormones & uterine health) 3 Shatavari Kalpa 1 tsp with milk daily Increases egg quality, balances hormones

✅Therapies

( I Will strongly recommend you to go for this therapies )

Uttarbasti (Ayurvedic intrauterine oil therapy) –enhances conception chances in low AMH cases.

Panchakarma (Virechana + Basti) before conception attempts – cleanses toxins, balances doshas.

2. For Husband (Age 43, post-varicocele surgery, low motility & morphology)

✅INTERNAL MEDIACTION 1 Chandraprabha Vati 1 -0-1 Improves sperm motility, reduces stress 2 Muslikhadiradi kashaya 15ml-0-15ml +45 ml water after food Strengthens semen, improves stamina 3 Ashwagandha Capsule 1 cap-0-1 cap twice daily Enhances testosterone, reduces fatigue 4 Shilajit Rasayana 1 cap daily at bed time follwed by warm. Thank u

HELLO RAK,

You are 30 years old and trying to conceive. here’s a simple breakdown of your situation

Your menstrual cycle= normal (every 30 days). This means your body is capable of ovulation

Ovarian reserve (AMH 1.25 ng/mL)= slightly lower than average. This means you may have fewer eggs available , so time is important

Follicle size= 23*16mm. usually an egg is considered mature around 18-24 mm. Your follicles are borderline mature

Uterus and tubes= normal. There is no blockage or structural problem

Thyroid= you take 25 mcg of levothyroxine ; your levels are normal, so thyroid is not a current problem.

Husband’s sperm= he had varicocele surgery . Motility (movement) has slightly improved but shape (morphology ) is still low. Low morphology makes natural conception difficult.

SUMMARY= you are ovulating and your reproductive organs are healthy, but the challenges are -slightly reduced ovarian reserve -male factor infertility (poor sperm shape)

DOCTOR’S SUGGESTION= IVF with ICSI (injecting one sperm directly onto one egg) is the most effective option because of male factor infertility

TREATMENT GOALS

PRIMARY GOALS -improve egg quality and quantity (ovarian health) -improve sperm quality, motility, and morphology -support uterus lining for implantation -balanc hormones, reduce stress, and improve overall reproductive health

SECONDARY GOALS -reduce inflammation and toxins in the body -strengthen general immunity and vitality -support IVF/ICSI success if pursued

AYURVEDIC TREATMENT Ayurveda treats infertility as Vandhyatwa and focuses on balancing vata, kapha, and pitta in reproductive tissues (artava or women, shukra for men)

Treatment involves internal medications, external therapies, lifestyle , diet and yoga/pranayam

INTERNAL MEDICATIONS OF YOU

1) PHAL GHRITA= 1 tsp with warm milk on empty stomach in morning for 3-6 months consistently =supports ovulation, nourishes uterus and endometrium balances vata

2) ASHOKARISHTA= 15 ml with equal water after meals twice daily for 3 months =regulates menstrual cycle, strengthens uterus reduces stress on reproductive system

3) DASHMOOLARISHTA= 20 ml with equal water after meals twice daily for 3 months =deeply nourishes reproductive tissues, reduces vata imbalance, improves strength post-menstruation

4) RAJAPRAVARTINI VATI (if ovulation is delayed or cycles irregular)= 1 tab twice daily from day 4-14 of your cycle (follicular phase) =promotes healthy ovulation and timely menstruation

5) STRI RASAYANA VATI (baidyanath)= 1 tab twice daily with milk for 3 months =general female reproductive tonic, improves egg health, hormonal balance, mood

FOR HUSBAND

1) CHYAWANPRASHA RASAYAN= 2 tsp with warm milk morning and night =builds Ojas, enhances sperm vitality , immunity, and overall stamina

2) SPERMAN (himalaya)= 2 tabs twice daily after meals for 3 months =specificlly improves sperm count, motility , morphology

3) SHILAJITWADI VATI (with gold- if available)= 1 tab twice daily with milk for 3 months =rejuvinates reproductive strength, testosterone support, improves sperm DNA integrity

4) SAPTAMRIT LAUH= 250 mg twice daily with honey and ghee for 2 months =reduces oxidative stress on sperm, supports eye and brain function, helps hormonal balance

5) KAPIKACCHU PAK= 1 tsp with milk at bedtime for 3 months =classical aphrodisiac , improves semen volume and quality

EXTERNAL THERAPIES

1) OIL MASSAGE with warm ksheerbala taila =improves blood circulation, relaxes muscles, and balance vata

2) Follow day hot water steam/bath =enhances circulation to pelvic organs

LIFESTYLE MODIFICATIONS -sleep 7-8 gourd, maintain regular sleep-wake cycle -avoid stress; practice meditation or mindful relaxation -moderate exercise : brisk walking, yoga or swimming -avoid smoking, alcohol, and excessive caffeine -avoid very cold, processed, or fried foods

YOGA ASANAS -baddha konasana= improves pelvic blood flow -supta baddha konasana= relaxes reproductive organs -setu bandhasana= strengthens uterus and lower abdomen -viparita karani= improves circulation to pelvic organs

PRANAYAM -Anulom vilom= balances hormones, reduces stress -Bhramari= calming, reduces stress -Kapalbhati= stimulates circulation

DIET -warm, cooked meals, avoid raw, cold foods

INCLUDE -milk, ghee, almonds, walnuts, sesame seeds -dates, figs, pomegranate, seasonal fruits -whole grains : rice, oats, barley -Include foods rich in Zinc, Selenium, Vitamin E, Folate for sperm and egg health

HOME REMEDIES -warm sesame il abdominal massage once daily -herbal decoction with shatavari, ashwagandha, and gokshura -chywanprasha daily 1 tsp with warm milk -drink warm water throughout the day to improve digestion and circulation

INVESTIGATIONS

FOR YOU -repeat AMH and FSH (follicular day 2-3) -Thyroid profile -ultrasound for ovarian and follicular monitoring -progesterone level mid-luteal phase to confirm ovulation

FOR HUSBAND -repeat semen analysis after 3 months of said treatment -DNA fragmentation test if considering IVF/ICSI

ADVICES

NATURAL CONCEPTION= possible, but chances are lower due to male factor and borderline AMH

AYURVEDIC THERAPY= can improve egg quality, sperm health, educes stress, and increase chances of conception

IVF WITH ICSI= likely necessary for higher success, especially if male sperm morphology remains low

INTEGRATIVE APPROACH= combine ayurvedic treatment, lifestyle changes, diet, yoga and IVF for best outcomes

TIMELINE= start ayurveda and lifestyle modifications immediately for 3-6 months to optimise natural or assisted conception

DO FOLLOW

HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL

THANK YOU

HELLO RAK ,

You are 30 years old, with normal thyroid function on 25 mcg medication, and your menstrual cycles are regular. Your uterus, ovaries, and fallopian tubes are all normal. Your AMH is 1.25, which indicates a mildly reduced ovarian reserve. Your husband had varicocele, underwent microsurgery 5 months ago, and his sperm motility has improved slightly, but morphology is still low.

At this stage, the difficulty in conceiving is likely due to a combination of mildly reduced ovarian reserve and sperm morphology issues. IVF with ICSI is a modern medical option that can help bypass sperm-related fertilization challenges. Ayurveda cannot replace IVF but can support fertility naturally by improving your ovarian health, hormonal balance, and your husband’s sperm quality, which may enhance the success of any assisted reproductive treatment.

Treatment Plan:

1. Ama Pachana (First 3–5 days): Triphala Churna – 1 tsp with warm water at night, to cleanse the digestive system and improve metabolism.

2. Internal Medications (After Ama Pachana): Chyawanprash – 1 tsp twice daily, for general health and immunity. Ashokarishtam – 2 tsp after meals twice daily, to support hormonal balance and uterine health. Shilajit Vati – 250 mg once daily, to improve energy, vitality, and sperm quality. Kapikacchu (Mucuna Pruriens) Powder – for husband, 1 tsp with warm milk once daily, to improve sperm count and motility.

3. External Care: Gentle abdominal massage with warm sesame or coconut oil 2–3 times a week to improve pelvic circulation. Avoid stress, excessive heat, or tight clothing around the reproductive organs.

Dietary Guidance:

Include ghee, whole grains, lentils, fresh fruits, nuts, and seeds. Consume milk, yogurt, and protein-rich foods for reproductive tissue nourishment.

Avoid processed foods, excessive sugar, and deep-fried items. For the husband: include walnuts, almonds, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, and green leafy vegetables to support sperm health.

Investigations :

Repeat semen analysis after 3 months of treatment for your husband. Follicular monitoring during next cycles to check egg quality and growth.

Hormonal profile if recommended by your doctor. Bowel, Micturition, Appetite, Sleep: Check bowel regularity and urine output. Maintain a balanced diet to improve appetite. Ensure 7–8 hours of quality sleep.

If both of you follow this plan consistently for 3–4 months, it can improve your ovarian environment and your husband’s sperm quality, potentially increasing the chances of natural conception or IVF success. Ayurveda works gently and steadily, so consistency is key.

Warm regards, Dr. Karthika

Considering your situation, integrating Ayurvedic principles alongside medical advice can be supportive. Since your thyroid levels are under control with 25 mcg medication and you have a regular menstrual cycle, major focus can be given to nourishment and optimizing reproductive health through lifestyle and diet adjustments as per Ayurveda.

On the Ayurvedic front, improving ‘Shukra Dhatu’ (reproductive tissue) vitality is key. Balance and enhance your internal system by including ingredients like Ashwagandha and Shatavari in your daily regime. These adaptogenic herbs are known to nurture reproductive tissue, and help in balancing hormones. Consuming one teaspoon of Ashwagandha powder with warm milk in the morning, and Shatavari powder with a similar quantity in the evening may be of benefit.

Additionaly, consider prioritizing a diet that increases ‘Ojas,’ which signifies overall vitality and immunity. Eat whole grains, nuts, ghee, and green leafy vegetables. Avoid excessive cold, raw or processed foods as they can dampen your ‘Agni’ (digestive fire). Give preference to foods that are warm and freshly cooked.

For your husband, post microsurgery, enhancing ‘Veerya’ (sperm health) will be crucial. He might do well incorporating Kapikacchu and Gokshura powders. One teaspoon of each, taken with water in the morning, can assist in supporting sperm quality. Additionally, reducing stress through practices like yoga and meditation may further support reproductive health.

Engage regularly in practices that calming the mind, like meditation or Pranayama, could also enhance overall well-being for both of you. Concerning medical steps like IVF with ICSI, these are appropriate options provided by modern fertility treatments for conditions such as low sperm motility and morphology. Ayurveda could complement these methods by optimizing your internal balance and vitality.

Should you choose to proceed with the IVF pathway, continue to adhere to both ayurvedic and medical guidance to maximize your conception chances and sustain health through this journey.

Considering the information you have shared, it seems you are dealing with unexplained infertility, and your husband’s sperm parameters might be contributing factors to this situation. Ayurvedic and Siddha perspectives focus on balancing the doshas - vata, pitta, and kapha - to support reproductive health. Both partners can benefit from addressing any imbalances and optimizing their overall well-being.

First, ensure your thyroid function remains stable while continuing with your prescribed medication. Thyroid imbalances can interfere with fertility, so staying in regular consultation with your healthcare provider is crucial. Reduce stress levels, as stress can exacerbate vata and impact reproductive health. Consider pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation.

As your AMH is 1.25, it’s essential to support ovarian health. Consuming herbs like Shatavari and Ashwagandha can support reproductive function and balance hormones. Shatavari improves fertility by nourishing the reproductive organs, and Ashwagandha reduces stress and boosts vitality.

Your husband’s recent surgery indicates a need for recovery and enhancement of sperm health. Herbs like Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) can improve sperm quality. Additionally, a diet rich in antioxidants — comprising fresh fruits, nuts, seeds, and green leafy vegetables — is beneficial for sperm health.

Incorporating sesame oil self-massage (abhyanga) can also help balance doshas and promote calmness. Both should focus on maintaining a warm, nourishing diet to stimulate agni (digestive/metabolic fire). Foods like ghee, whole grains, and warm soups can be supportive.

While Ayurveda provides holistic support, if the time is sensitive and you’ve already explored these natural options, IVF with ICSI may be prudent given medical advice and the age of your husband. Seeking a blend of conventional and traditional guidance often provides the best outcome, so keep in close communication with both your allopathic and Ayurvedic practitioners for a collaborative approach.

Dr. Maitri Bhavesh Kumar Acharya
I am Dr. Maitri, currently in my 2nd year of MD in Dravyaguna, and yeah, I run my own Ayurvedic clinic in Ranoli where I’ve been seeing patients for 2 years now. Honestly, what pulled me into this path deeper is how powerful herbs really are—when used right. Not just randomly mixing churnas but actually understanding their rasa, virya, vipaka etc. That’s kinda my zone, where textbook knowledge meets day-to-day case handling. My practice revolves around helping people with PCOD, acne, dandruff, back pain, stiffness in knees or joints that never seem to go away. And I don’t jump to giving a long list of medicines straight away—first I spend time figuring out their prakriti, their habits, food cycle, what triggers what… basically all the small stuff that gets missed. Then comes the plan—herbs (single or compound), some diet reshuffling, and always some lifestyle nudges. Sometimes they’re tiny, like sleep timing. Sometimes big like proper seasonal detox. Being into Dravyaguna helps me get into the depth of herbs more confidently. I don’t just look at the symptom—I think okay what guna will counter this? Should the drug be snigdha, ushna, tikta? Is there a reverse vipaka that’ll hurt the agni? I ask these questions before writing any combo. That’s made a huge diff in outcomes. Like I had this case of chronic urticaria that would flare up every week, and just tweaking the herbs based on sheetala vs ushna nature... helped calm the system in 3 weeks flat. Not magic, just logic. I also work with women who are struggling with hormonal swings, mood, delayed periods or even unexplained breakouts. When hormones go haywire, the skin shows, digestion slows, and mind gets foggy too. I keep my approach full-circle—cleansing, balancing, rejuvenating. No quick fixes, I tell them early on. What I’m hoping to do more of now is make Ayurveda feel practical. Not overwhelming. Just simple tools—ahara, vihara, aushadha—used consistently, with some trust in the body’s own healing. I’m still learning, still refining, but honestly, seeing people feel in control of their health again—that’s what keeps me rooted to this.

I am a BAMS graduate and currently running my own clinic, where I see patients on a regular basis and try to give them honest, practical care. My daily work involves understanding different health concerns, listening properly to what the patient is going through, and then planning treatment in a way that actually fits their routine. I believe treatment should not feel confusing or rushed, and sometimes even small changes make a big difference. Running my own clinic has taught me a lot about responsibility and consistency. Some days are busy, some are slow, but every patient brings a different challenge and learning. I focus mainly on Ayurvedic treatment methods, lifestyle correction and long-term health balance, rather than quick fixes. There are times when progress takes longer, but I stay patient and keep working with the person step by step. I try to keep my approach simple, practical and honest. For me, real success is when a patient feels better in daily life, sleeps better, eats better and slowly regains balance. That is what keeps me going and improving every day.

I am someone who believes Ayurveda isn’t just some old system — it’s alive, and actually still works when you use it the way it's meant to be used. My practice mostly revolves around proper Ayurvedic diagnosis (rogi & roga pariksha types), Panchakarma therapies, and ya also a lot of work with herbal medicine — not just prescribing but sometimes preparing stuff myself when needed. I really like that hands-on part actually, like knowing where the herbs came from and how they're processed... changes everything. One of the things I pay a lot of attention to is how a person's lifestyle is playing into their condition. Food, sleep, bowel habits, even small emotional patterns that people don't even realize are affecting their digestion or immunity — I look at all of it before jumping to treatment. Dietary therapy isn’t just telling people to eat less fried food lol. It’s more about timing, combinations, seasonal influence, and what suits their prakriti. That kind of detail takes time, and sometimes patients don’t get why it matters at first.. but slowly it clicks. Panchakarma — I do it when I feel it's needed. Doesn’t suit everyone all the time, but in the right case, it really clears the stuck layers. But again, it's not magic — people need to prep properly and follow instructions. That's where strong communication matters. I make it a point to explain everything without dumping too much Sanskrit unless they’re curious. I also try to keep things simple, like I don’t want patients feeling intimidated or overwhelmed with 10 things at once. We go step by step — sometimes slow, sometimes quick depending on the case. There’s no “one protocol fits all” in Ayurveda and frankly I get bored doing same thing again and again. Whether it’s a fever that won’t go or long-term fatigue or gut mess — I usually go deep into what's behind it. Surface-level fixes don’t last. I rather take the time than rush into wrong herbs. It’s more work, ya, but makes a diff in long run.

Dr. Ravi Chandra Rushi
I am working right now as a Consultant Ayurvedic Ano-Rectal Surgeon at Bhrigu Maharishi Ayurvedic Hospital in Nalgonda—and yeah, that name’s quite something, but what really keeps me here is the kind of cases we get. My main focus is managing ano-rectal disorders like piles (Arsha), fistula-in-ano (Bhagandara), fissure-in-ano (Parikartika), pilonidal sinus, and rectal polyps. These are often more complex than they look at first, and they get misdiagnosed or overtreated in a lotta places. That’s where our classical tools come in—Ksharasutra therapy, Agnikarma, and a few other para-surgical techniques we follow from the Samhitas...they’ve been lifesavers honestly. My work here pushes me to keep refining surgical precision while also sticking to the Ayurvedic core. I do rely on modern diagnostics when needed, but I won’t replace the value of a well-done Nadi Pariksha or assessing dosha-vikruti in depth. Most of my patients come with pain, fear, and usually after a couple of rounds of either incomplete surgeries or just being fed painkillers n antibiotics. And I totally get that frustration. That’s why I combine surgery with a whole support plan—Ayurvedic meds, diet changes, lifestyle tweaks that actually match their prakriti. Not generic stuff off a handout. Over time, I’ve seen that when people follow the whole protocol, not just the procedure part, the recurrence drops a lot. I’m quite particular about follow-up and wound care too, ‘cause we’re dealing with delicate areas here and ignoring post-op can ruin outcomes. Oh and yeah—I care a lot about educating folks too. I talk to patients in OPD, sometimes give community talks, just to tell people they do have safer options than cutting everything out under GA! I still study Shalya Tantra like it’s a living document. I try to stay updated with whatever credible advancements are happening in Ayurvedic surgery, but I filter what’s fluff and what’s actually useful. At the end of the day, my aim is to offer respectful, outcome-based care that lets patients walk out without shame or fear. That’s really what keeps me grounded in this field.

I am an Ayurvedic physician who kinda found my grounding during my BAMS at SDM Institute of Ayurveda, Bangalore—graduated 2022. That place really drilled in the classics, like proper Ayurveda-shastra, but also pushed us to actually use it in clinics, not just memorize verses. Right now I’m doing my PG in Shalya Tantra (Ayurvedic Surgery), which is a bit intense honestly, but it’s also where I feel most focused... like I can bridge the old with the now, if that makes sense. I’ve worked across outpatient and inpatient setups for around 3 years. Assisted in surgeries. Monitored recoveries. Some days are all about bandaging and Basti, others I’m counseling families or setting up herbal meds for chronic stuff. It’s always changing. I’ve done classical therapies like Ksharasutra, Agnikarma and also worked with modern tools — not against them, with them. Feels important to say that. What really matters to me tho is patient trust. I try to explain what’s going on without sounding preachy... like, if someone comes in with a pilonidal sinus or chronic fissure, I don’t just talk meds — I explain why their lifestyle or digestion’s probably linked too. My strength (if I can call it that) lies in making Ayurvedic surgery feel less intimidating n more real-world. I’m not chasing shortcuts. Not here to sell cures. My aim’s just to help more ppl see that healing doesn’t have to mean choosing between ancient n modern. You can have both—like a Sushruta blade held in a 21st century hand. And if I can keep doing that—blending Shalya with evidence, compassion with clarity—then ya, I’d feel like I’m on the right path.

I am Dr. Arun Desai, working in Ayurveda for 19+ years now, both online and offline. My clinic, Ayur Sanjivani, is at #44 B 1, Opp Adarsh Laundry, beside Tej Residency, near Kavalemath Somwaar Peth Cross in Tilakwadi, Belgaum – bit of a long address but patients seem to find it just fine. Over time I’ve learned that people today want relief fast but still safe and lasting. That’s where I mix the depth of classical Ayurveda with practical tweaks to suit this fast moving lifestyle. I don’t like giving something that just masks a symptom – I want to get to the root cause whenever possible. At the clinic, I try to keep things warm and easy to talk, not a stiff doctor’s table vibe. Whether it’s diagnosis, a Panchakarma session, or simple counseling, I want patients to feel they can ask anything, even small doubts. Education matters too – when someone understands why a certain diet or lifestyle change is needed, they actually follow it better. Treatments may include herbal formulations, diet charts, yoga routines, exercise plans, detox, anti-stress work – all depending on their prakruti and condition. Over the years, I’ve treated people from many walks of life – each case different, which keeps me learning. Some come for joint pain, some for skin problems, others for lifestyle disorders like diabetes or high BP. I still follow authentic Ayurvedic principles but adapt them so they work in today’s reality. And yes, I’m always updating my knowledge, making sure the practice stays ethical and effective, because for me, Ayurveda isn’t just treatment – it’s a way to help someone rebuild their health from inside out.

I am Dr. Snehal Vidhate, born n brought up in Maharashtra—and honestly, for as long as I remember I’ve felt this pull towards Ayurveda. Not the fancy version ppl throw around, but the deep, real kind that actually helps ppl. I did my BAMS from YMT Ayurvedic Medical College in Kharghar. That’s where I got my basics strong—like really studied the shastras, understood prakriti, doshas, the whole deal. Not just crammed theory but started to see how it shows up in real lives. After finishing BAMS, I got into this one-year certificate course at Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth, Delhi—honestly a turning point. I was super lucky to learn Kerala Ayurveda from my Guru, Prof. Dr. G.G. Gangadharan. He’s got this way of seeing things... simple but deep. That time with him taught me more than any textbook ever could. It kinda reshaped how I look at health, healing n how precise Ayurveda can be when you respect its roots. Right now I’m doing my MD in Panchakarma from SDM Ayurveda College, Bangalore. This place is like a hub for serious Ayurveda work. The Panchakarma training here? Super intense. We go deep into detoxification & rasayana therapy—not just theory again, but hands-on. I’m learning to blend classical techniques with today’s clinical demands.. like how to make Vamana or Basti actually doable in modern patient setups. My current practice is really about merging tradition with logic. Whether it’s chronic skin issues, gut problems, stress burnout or hormone stuff—my goal is to get to the root, not just hush the symptoms. I use Panchakarma when needed, but also a lot of ahara-vihara tweaks, medhya herbs, sometimes just slowing ppl down a bit helps. I really believe Ayurveda’s power is in its simplicity when done right. I don’t try to fix ppl—I work *with* them. And honestly, every patient teaches me something back.

It wasn’t just routine—it was a daily crash course in reality, where textbook cases didn’t always match what walked through the door. I spent long hours rotating through departments—OPD, emergency, minor OT, even labor rooms—and yeah, each one taught me something I couldn’t’ve learned sitting in lectures. There were days I saw over 40–50 patients in OPD, most with multilayered complaints—gastritis mixed with anxiety, or skin rashes that flared worse in stressy situations. I had to listen sharp, note quick, and still not miss anything. Like, once I forgot to double-check a sugar reading and the case shifted entirely, and that messed with me a bit. You learn from these things tho. I did. Civil hospital life means working with all types of ppl—those with chronic issues like joint pain, those rushing in with acute fevers, and sometimes those who just need someone to explain their condition calmly. I handled case sheets, helped in rounds, observed surgeries (some minor, some I couldn’t stop thinking about later tbh), managed herbal prescriptions under supervision, and did a lotta counseling, which is underrated honestly. One thing that stood out to me was how often symptoms were being treated but not the pattern behind them. Like repeat migraines? Usually it was more about sleep or stress than just pain. That shifted how I approached things. Made me dig deeper, not just ask "what hurts" but also "since when and what else changed?" The internship taught me to act quick but also pause when needed, speak confidently but also shut up and learn when I didn’t know something—trust me, those moments happened too. It gave me the ground reality of how Ayurvedic support can sit side-by-side with hospital protocols. Not everything went smooth—forgot a file once, mixed two doses (minor issue but still), and yeah, sometimes I was too cautious when I shoud've acted faster. But that year shaped me... more than anything else. And I carry all that messiness and learning into my practice now, everyday.

I am working right now as a Senior Research Fellow on an AYUSH-funded project under CCRAS—it’s a big one for me. It’s not just about writing papers or collecting data, like some people assume. We’re actually trying to validate classical Ayurvedic treatments using proper research methods, real patients, real clinical outcomes. I didn’t expect research to pull me in this deep honestly, but it’s showing me how much of Ayurveda still needs to be *re-seen* through today's lens. Not reinvented, just translated properly. That’s the work we’re doing—trying to show what already works, in a language modern healthcare understands. Alongside that, I also work as a personal diet consultant with Bajaj Capital. It’s a different setup entirely—one-on-one with clients who’re mostly confused about food, health, energy, what’s wrong or right for their body type. I build plans based on their prakriti, current imbalances (some ppl don’t even know they have any!), season, and life habits. And no, it’s not only about what to eat—it’s also about when, how, how much. Diet, sleep, stress—all of it connects. Sometimes the advice is dead simple, but that’s exactly what people ignore. This combination—research plus real-life consulting—it’s made my approach more grounded, I think. I’m always toggling between ancient texts and current-day issues like burnout, insulin resistance, or digestion that just refuses to settle. Whether it's a vata-heavy imbalance or long-term acidity or even lifestyle stuff like thyroid or bp, my goal is to keep it practical and honest—not just throw herbs or panchkarma at every single thing. It's about fitting Ayurveda into the real life ppl are living.

I am having about a year of hands-on experience in clinical health, mostly working closely with patients in real care settings. My focus stay on understanding disease beyond reports, looking at daily habits, mental state, and overall strength of body. I follow a holistic approach especially while supporting cancer patients, where care is not only about symptoms but also comfort, nutrition, and emotional balance. During this time I worked with patients at different stages of illness, and that taught me patience, sometimes things move slow, sometimes progress feel uneven. I try to integrate holistic health principles carefully, without overdoing anything, because every patient respond differntly. Cancer care, in my view, need gentle planning and steady follow-up, not aggressive promises. I believe clinical experience shape judgement more than theory alone, though I still keep learning everyday. My approach remain patient-centric, focused on improving quality of life and supporting overall wellbeing. There are days when outcomes are uncertain, but consistent care and honest guidance still matter a lot, even when answers are not very clear.

I am Dr. Sushma M and yeah, I’ve been in Ayurveda for over 20 yrs now—honestly still learning from it every day. I mostly work with preventive care, diet logic, and prakriti-based guidance. I mean, why wait for full-blown disease when your body’s been whispering for years, right? I’m kinda obsessed with that early correction part—spotting vata-pitta-kapha imbalances before they spiral into something deeper. Most ppl don’t realize how much power food timing, digestion rhythm, & basic routine actually have… until they shift it. Alongside all that classical Ayurveda, I also use energy medicine & color therapy—those subtle layers matter too, esp when someone’s dealing with long-term fatigue or emotional heaviness. These things help reconnect not just the body, but the inner self too. Some ppl are skeptical at first—but when you treat *beyond* the doshas, they feel it. And I don’t force anything… I just kinda match what fits their nature. I usually take time understanding a person’s prakriti—not just from pulse or skin or tongue—but how they react to stress, sleep patterns, their relationship with food. That whole package tells the story. I don’t do textbook treatment lines—I build a plan that adjusts *with* the person, not on top of them. Over the years, watching patients slowly return to their baseline harmony—that's what keeps me in it. I’ve seen folks come in feeling lost in symptoms no one explained… and then walk out weeks later understanding their body better than they ever did. That, to me, is healing. Not chasing symptoms, but restoring rhythm. I believe true care doesn’t look rushed, or mechanical. It listens, observes, tweaks gently. That's the kind of Ayurveda I try to practice—not loud, but deeply rooted.
