I am really worried about getting dengue fever. Last month my friend contracted it during a trip to Southeast Asia, and it was such a scary experience seeing them bedridden, high fever, and all those painful symptoms. It was like a nightmare! I found out that dengue is spread by mosquitoes, which freaks me out even more. Living in a tropical area, I have noticed way too many mosquitoes buzzing around, especially during dawn and dusk. I mean, I try to use repellents and wear long sleeves, but it's honestly hard to keep up every day. I read somewhere that there are natural ways to help with this, but I’m not sure which ones really work. Does anyone know how to prevent dengue fever effectively? Like, is there specific herbs or methods I can incorporate into my daily life? I just want to be proactive and not end up in a hospital like my friend did. Also, how often should I be checking for stagnant water around my home? I'm a bit anxious about it all and just want to feel safe. Any tips on how to prevent dengue fever will be really appreciated!!! Thanks in advance!

Tulsi has properties that are useful in detoxifying the blood and enhancing immunity, thus potentially reducing susceptibility if infected.

You could also grow plants like lemongrass or marigolds around your house; they naturally repel mosquitoes. Mind your diet, incorporating foods that boost immunity like ginger, turmeric, and garlic.

Promote a healthy digestive fire (Agni) with fresh, balanced meals aligning with your prakriti (constitution). Opt for meals high in antioxidants and vitamins, helping your body’s resistance to infections improve. Keep hydrated, aiding your body’s defense mechanisms too.

Don’t forget adequate rest and maintaining moderate physical activity, strengthening your defenses. Wearing appropriate clothing, such as full-sleeve shirts and long pants, isn’t only practical, it’s necessary.

Remember, in regions prone to dengue, when symptoms emerge, seek medical advice promptly. These measures are proactive, but not substitutes for medical expertise if health issues arise.
