how to cure teeth pain at home - #39584

Owen

I am dealing with some really bad teeth pain and I'm not sure how to cure teeth pain at home. This has been going on for a few days now. Just last week I had that super cold ice cream and bam! The next day, my tooth started acting up, like the pain was shooting up my jaw. I thought it was just sensitivity, but it feels worse. I tried rinsing with salt water, and honestly, I don't know if it helped or made things worse. And the clove oil, I've put that on too but it’s only temp relief... I’m kind of freaking out here! I’ve got a dentist appointment next week but I would love to know how to cure teeth pain at home in the meantime! Are there any herbal remedies or natural stuff that you all have tried? I’m really hopeing for something simple, like a paste or a rinse? Should I be worried if the pain keeps getting worse?? Ugh! I can’t eat anything that requires chewing because it just shoots pain through my head. If you all have any experiences or tips on how to cure teeth pain at home that could actually work, I'd be super grateful! I honestly just want to enjoy my food again! Please help!

Based on the information you’ve providd, managing tooth pain at home using Ayurvedic solutions can be achievable but takes some careful application. It’s reassuring to hear that you’ve got a dentist appointment scheduled; in the meantime, let’s focus on what can be done at home in a safe manner.

First, considering you’ve tried clove oil, you might continue with that but ensure to use it correctly. Clove (Syzygium aromaticum) oil is valued in Ayurveda for its potent analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. However, it’s crucial to dilute the clove oil with a carrier oil like coconut oil to prevent irritation: aim for a ratio of 1 drop of clove oil to 3 drops of carrier oil. Apply this mixture to the affected tooth using a cotton swab for temporary relief.

Another recommended remedy is guava leaves. Guava leaves possess anti-inflammatory properties and can be quite effective. You can chew on fresh, clean guava leaves or make a rinse by boiling the leaves in water for about 10 minutes, strain and cool the liquid, then swish it in your mouth for relief.

If pain persists or worsens, applying a cold compress an the outside of your cheek can reduce swelling and numb pain temporarily. Wrap ice in a cloth and place it against your cheek for about 15 minutes at a time.

Ayurveda also stresses the importance of diet and oral hygiene. Ensure to avoid excessively hot or cold foods as the temperature extremes may exacerbate pain. A soft, warm meal such as kitchari can be soothing on your system.

Practicing oil pulling is also a beneficial routine to incorporate although with toothache, it should be done cautiously. Use a tablespoon of sesame or coconut oil, swish it gently in your mouth for around 5-10 minutes then spit it out. This can help in reducing bacteria and oral toxins.

Keep monitoring the pain, its intensity and frequency, if you notice any significant increase, again, prioritizing medical dental intervention is the wisest move. Waiting for professional care remains integral as the goal is to avoid potential complications or infections.
