why hair loss happen - #39771

Kennedy

I am really worried about this hair loss thing! Like, over the past few months, I noticed my hair thinning out way more than usual. At first, I thought it was just stress or maybe a bad hair day, but it's getting worse. I tried switching my shampoo and even did a cleanse, but nothing changed. I’ve read a bit about why hair loss happen but I’m still confused. Is it just me, or do other people face this too?? My mom mentioned that sometimes it can be hormonal, but I don’t know where to start looking for the right answers. And then there’s also the diet aspect. Am I missing something important in my nutrition that's affecting my hair? I mean, I thought I was eating okay — fruits and veggies, ya know? Also, I noticed my scalp feeling a bit itchy sometimes and I’m not sure if that’s related or just my imagination. I really want to figure out why hair loss happen and how to fix it before it's too late!! Any advice or suggestions would be super helpful!! Thanks!

Hair loss is something many people experience, and it’s understandable that you feel a bit concerned. From an Ayurvedic viewpoint, hair fall is closely connected to your unique dosha constitution, and often related to an imbalance, primarily in the Pitta dosha. This dosha, when aggravated, can lead to increased hair loss, accompanied by an itchy scalp and worsening of hair quality. Your stress and dietary habits can play a significant role in fueling this imbalance.

Firstly, diet may be a key area to examine. Despite eating fruits and veggies, sometimes vital nutrients like iron, zinc, biotin, and Omega-3 fatty acids might not be adequately included in your meals, leading to hair fall. To enhance nutritional intake, consider incorporating foods like sesame seeds, amla (Indian gooseberry), almonds, walnuts, spinach, and ghee. These are rich in nutrients needed to nourish your hair roots. Amla, particularly, is revered in Ayurveda for promoting hair health and can be consumed in powder form or as fresh juice daily.Try to avoid excessively spicy, oily, or sour foods as they can aggravate Pitta.

Additionally, lifestyle factors such as excessive heat exposure (hot showers, heat styling tools) or stress can influence hair health. Implementing stress-reducing practices like yoga, meditation or deep breathing exercises might alleviate not just the mental tension but also mitigate the impact on your hair.

As for the itchiness, it’s possible it’s related to Pitta imbalance too. Massaging your scalp with cooling oils such as coconut oil mixed with neem or bhringraj oil might soothe and nourish the scalp, reducing itchiness while promoting healthier hair growth. Ensure you massage gently to stimulate circulation without aggravating the scalp further.

Consulting with an Ayurvedic practitioner might provide personalized guidance based on a deeper understanding of your dosha balance and lifestyle. If you notice no improvement, or if the hair loss continues or worsens, considering professional medical advice may help in pinpointing the root cause, especially if hormonal factors require attention.
