The duration for which you need to take Ayurvedic medicines like Liv 52, Khadiradi, Triphala Guggulu, Avipattikar and Triphala usually depends on the severity and recurrence of your mouth ulcers, as well as your overall health and constitution. In general, a course of about 4 to 6 weeks is often recommended to see significant improvement in ulcer symptoms, especially if this combination is already showing effectiveness.

However, it’s crucial to monitor your body’s response. If the ulcers subside significantly, you might be able to taper down the dosage under Dr. Surya Bhagwati’s guidance.

Liv 52 is primarily used to support liver function, which contributes to detoxification processes. It’s generally safe for a longer duration but usage should be reviewed periodically. Khadiradi vati, used for its local soothing and healing properties, can be continued for symptom relief but should be stopped if you experience any irritation.

Triphala Guggulu and Avipattikar Churna are meant to balance the Pitta dosha, which often causes ulcers due to heat and inflammation. Avipattikar might help with digestion issues that could be underlying contributors. You may continue with these, but again it’s wise to reassess after 4-6 weeks. Night use of Triphala is beneficial for bowel regulation and can be safely continued unless any discomfort arises.

Since you’re already following an Ayurvedic regime, it’s beneficial to adhere to a Pitta-pacifying diet as well, emphasizing cooling, non-spicy, and light foods like cucumber, coconut water, and buttermilk. Maintaining hydration is equally essential.

Lastly, it’s always best practice to keep consulting with your healthcare provider, to adjust the prescription based on your progress and any persisting symptoms. Don’t self-medicate beyond recommended periods without guidance, as individual needs can vary considerably.
