Doctors' responses

Namaste, Subarachnoid hemorrhage is a serious brain condition where bleeding occurs around the brain. When a person is in coma and not responding, it means the brain has been significantly affected and requires intensive hospital care and close monitoring. In the early stage, recovery can be slow and unpredictable, and sometimes improvement may take time depending on the extent of bleeding and brain injury. Simple supportive measures that may help during recovery: Continue strict medical care and monitoring in the hospital as advised by the treating doctors. Ensure the patient receives proper nutrition, hydration, and nursing care as recommended by the medical team. Family support and patience during the recovery period are very important, as brain healing can take time. Ayurveda may sometimes be considered later in the recovery phase to support nervous system strength and rehabilitation, but this should only be done after the patient becomes stable and under medical supervision. Ayurvedic medicines sometimes used for nervous system support include: Ashwagandha – traditionally used to support strength and recovery. Brahmi – commonly used to support brain and nervous system function. At this stage, the priority should remain emergency and neurological care from the hospital team. Consult me for more advice and suggestions on the above medicines.

Namaste I am very sorry to hear about your father’s condition Seeing a loved one in coma after a subarachnoid hemorrhage is extremely stressful for your family An Extensive subarchnoid hemorrhage means that bleeding has occured in the space surrounding the brain which leads to -Increased pressure inside skull -Reduced oxygen supply to brain tissue -Loss of consciousness (Coma) When doctors say that there is no response which means the brain is not responding to the stimuli despite treatment The first week after such hemorrhage is very critical and patients are usually kep under intensive care and close monitoring Right now the most important treatment is -ICU Monitoring -Medicines to control blood swelling -Blood pressure control In this stage modern emergency medical care is essential and it cannot be replaced by ayurveda Currently in this stage we can’t start Ayurvedic medicines as -patient is unconscious However after STABILIZATION and recovery, ayurveda can help om -Neurological rehabilitation -Strength Recovery -Improving nervous system function Right now the best approach is to continue hospital treatment and monitoring I pray for your father’s recovery and strength for yoir family during this difficult time Warm Regards Dr Snehal Vidhate

Thanks so much for clarifying this! I had no idea mixing meds could be risky. I'll stick to my doctor's meds and look into Ayurveda separately.
