Can I give my 6 year old twin son vacha, because both are shuttering and stammering , if howmuch doze will give the vasa quantity, how to use
Doctors' responses
Yes, Vacha (Acorus calamus) is traditionally highly regarded in Ayurveda for speech-related issues. The word “Vacha” itself literally translates to “speech” in Sanskrit. It is classified as a Medhya Rasayana (brain tonic) and is known for its Prabhava (special action) of clearing obstructions in the Vak Srotas (speech channels), balancing Vata and Kapha doshas, and improving articulation
••Never use raw, unprocessed Vacha root from the market.
••You must only purchase Shodhit Vacha Churna (purified Vacha powder). The traditional purification (Shodhana) process involves boiling the rhizome in cow’s milk or juice to neutralize its harshness, making it safe for pediatric use.
•Recommended Dosage & Administration for 6-Year-Olds
At 6 years of age, the dose must be very small. Do not use standard adult measurements (like half a teaspoon).
1. The “Pinch” Method (Churna)
Dosage: 1 pinch (approximately 60 mg to 120 mg) of Shodhit Vacha Churna per child.
••Anupana (Vehicle): Mix the pinch of powder with 1 teaspoon of pure honey. Honey acts as a catalyst (Yogavahi) that carries the herb’s properties directly to the throat and speech centers.
••Frequency: Once a day, preferably in the morning on an empty stomach.
How to take: Let them lick it slowly from a spoon so it comes into direct contact with the tongue and throat.
Add these 2 medicine also
Saraswata Ghrita: A medicated cow’s ghee containing Vacha, Brahmi, and Shankhpushpi. Ghee easily crosses the blood-brain barrier and calms Vata dosha (which governs the nervous system and anxiety related to stuttering).
Dose: 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon mixed in warm milk or warm water in the morning.
Saraswatarishta: A self-generated fermented liquid tonic that improves memory, voice quality, and speech clarity.
Dose: 5 ml with an equal quantity of lukewarm water, twice a day after meals.
