specific proportion of honey and clarified cow butter while consuming ayurvedic medicine for recovering good eye sight
Doctors' responses
For eye health in Ayurveda, honey and cow’s ghee are sometimes used as anupana (vehicle) with certain formulations. However, Ayurveda advises against mixing honey and ghee in exactly equal quantities by weight. A commonly used approach is: • Cow’s ghee 1 teaspoon (about 5 ml) • Honey ½ teaspoon (about 2.5 ml) Mix and consume once daily after food if advised for your constitution and condition. For general eye nourishment: • Triphala Churna 3–5 g at bedtime with warm water. • Saptamrit Lauh 250–500 mg twice daily after meals with honey and ghee as above. Additional measures: • Adequate sleep. • Regular breaks from screens. • Amla in the diet.
