Shilajit, traditionally valued in Ayurveda, can be safe if used correctly, even for individuals with conditions like cirrhosis, high blood pressure, and prediabetes. Its potential benefits lie in rejuvenating the body and promoting strength. However, it’s essential to consider a few factors specific to your condition.

For your high blood pressure, Shilajit is generally considered safe, but monitor your bp closely. Shilajit can sometimes interact with medications and may lower blood pressure, although, it’s not known to increase it. Be mindful of your dietary intake of sodium and caffeine while using Shilajit as these can affect bp levels as well.

Regarding prediabetes, Shilajit may influence glucose metabolism. Though it might help by improving insulin sensitivity over time, it’s important to consistently monitor your blood glucose levels to detect any adverse changes early on. Discuss with your doctor about any changes, even slight, in sugar levels.

As for the concern on heavy metal toxicity, the quality of Shilajit matters a great deal. Ensure that the Shilajit you are using is from a reputable source and has been purified properly to remove potential contaminants, especially heavy metals. This is critical because poorly processed Shilajit can indeed carry toxic metals.

Since your doctor has prescribed it and is aware of your medical conditions, follow-up with them during your course of treatment is important. Report any new symptoms or changes in your health to your doctor immediately. Regular monitoring and close communication will help manage your conditions effectively while incorporating Shilajit into your regimen.

Shilajit can be a beneficial substance in Ayurveda, offering support for various conditions. However, in your case with compensated liver cirrhosis, high blood pressure, and prediabetes, it requires a careful approach. Shilajit possesses potential to enhance vitality and support the liver’s function, although it’s important to be cautious due to its naturally occurring heavy metal content. Shilajit should ideally be from a reputable source and properly purified to avoid risk of heavy metal toxicity, which can be a concern with certain preparations.

Regarding its effect on blood pressure and blood sugar, Shilajit is generally considered safe, but there isn’t unanimous agreement in all cases, particularly when it comes to preexisting hypertension and diabetes. Some individuals might experience mild fluctuations in sugar and blood pressure levels, although this can vary significantly between individuals. Given your current medications (like the betablocker and ISTAMET), it’s essential maintaining a close watch on your bp and sugar levels when starting any new supplement, including shilajit.

Finally, regular check-ups with your healthcare provider are crucial. They can often provide insight based on latest medical guidelines and adjust your treatment plan accordingly. If you have concerns about the shilajit powder specifically, consult with your Ayurveda practitioner and possibly consider regular monitoring of your liver function and heavy metals to ensure safety.
