Hi Menka mam, I can understand your situation There are many medicines for this problem but first you need to understand the “Steps of this problem” (Samprapti) In Ayurveda it’s Aamvaat (Aam+Vaat) increased vaat in your body because of degenerative changes or diatery & lifestyle habits. And formation of Aam because of Weak metabolism and thyroid disfunction. So until the cycle of Aam formation and vaat imbalance continuous in your body you will not get relief from this issue. First you need to work on metabolism to avoid Aam formation in body – for that you have to follow diet and lifestyle correction and take aam pachak medicine like Aam pachak vati - 2 bd Aamvatari Ras vati - 2 bd Mahayograj Guggul - 2 bd Maharasnadi kwath - 3 tsp bd All medicine after food for 21 to 30 days. If possible you should do massage with Valuka Pottali using Caster oil and apply Erand Patra or Ark Patra lep on joints under doctors supervision for 7-8 sessions alternate day. Stop sleeping in day time specially after eating. Avoid late night eating and sleeping. Avoid heavy to digest food. Avoid mixing different kind of food items.
Start with Sihnad guggul 1-0-1 After food with water Dashamoolarist 15 ml twice daily after food with Maharasnadi ghanvati 1-0-1 after food with water Kanchanar guggul 1-0-1 after food with water Aarogyavardhini 1-0-1 after food with water Giloy ghanvati 1-0-1 after food with water. Gokshuradi guggul 2-0-0 after food with water Apply dhanvantrum oil on affected area twice daily.
Singhnada Guggulu - Tryodashang Guggulu - Peedantaka Vati - Punarnavadi Mandoor - Kanchanar guggulu Take 1 tablet from each, half-an-hour after breakfast, and dinner with lukewarm water. Once a week drink a glass of milk with 20 ml castor oil added to it, at night before going to bed.
Managing rheumatoid arthritis and hyperthyroidism through Ayurveda requires a dedicated focus on balancing your body’s doshas while considering your ongoing medical treatments. For your rheumatoid arthritis, which often involves Vata aggravation, modifications in diet and routine are essential. Opt for warm, cooked foods such as soups and stews. Incorporate spices like ginger, turmeric, and black pepper to help reduce inflammation and improve digestion. Avoid raw, cold, and processed foods as they may increase Vata dosha further leading to more pain and stiffness.
For your hyperthyroidism while it’s crucial to continue your thyroid medication under medical supervision, Ayurveda can complement by supporting overall body balance. Focus on grounding, calming practices such as Abhyanga (self-massage) with warm sesame oil in the morning, followed by a warm shower. This routine can aid in Vata balancing and offer relief for joint stiffness and pain.
In terms of herbal remedies, Triphala may support digestion and detoxification, which can be beneficial given your conditions. Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) is revered in Ayurveda for its potential to reduce inflammation and enhance immunity. However, consult with your Ayurvedic practitioner before adding them to ensure they won’t interfere with your thyroid medication.
Yoga and pranayama (breathing exercises) can also contribute substantially. Gentle yoga poses like Trikonasana (Triangle Pose) and Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose) may enhance flexibility and alleviate neck pain. Incorporating daily walking or mild exercise, considering your joint mobility, is vital for maintaining circulation.
Rest is just as important. Aim for a regular sleep schedule and use relaxation techniques like meditation to manage stress, which can exacerbate both thyriod and arthritis symptoms. Always keep an open dialogue with your healthcare provider to ensure your Ayurvedic practices align safely with allopathic treatments.

Rheumatic arthritis and hyperthyroidism can create a complex health situation, requiring a well-rounded approach. The Ayurveda sees your symptoms as the result of vata imbalance that causes joint pain and swelling, along with pitta issues that affect your metabolic function, potentially influencing your thyroid condition.
Start by focusing on your diet to help balance both vata and pitta doshas. Include warming, grounding foods like cooked grains (such as rice or wheat), lentils, and sweet potatoes. Avoid raw, cold, or overly spicy foods which can aggravate these imbalances. Favor freshly prepared meals instead of processed or leftover foods, which can dampen your agni.
For managing joint pain and morning stiffness, consider regular abhyanga (self-massage) with warm sesame oil. This can help in lubricating joints, reducing stiffness and pain. Do this in the morning, 15-20 minutes before showering, for better absorption and relief.
Herbs like Ashwagandha and Guggulu might be beneficial, as they help to support joint health and inflammation reduction. Use them under the guidance of a qualified practitioner to ensure they integrate properly with your existing medication. Yoga and pranayama can also support energy channels and improve flexibility. Gentle poses like Vrikshasana (Tree pose) and Tadasana (Mountain pose) promote stability and strength.
Monitor your symptoms closely and keep in touch with your healthcare provider to adjust your thyroid medication as needed. It’s crucial to check in regularly. Should symptoms become severe or you experience any new concerning symptoms, seek medical attention right away to prevent potential complications. Balancing these conditions holistically means integrating appropriate medical care alongside Ayurvedic practices.
