My soles are on fire as soon as i have food with a high glycemic index or high glycemic load.please advise me on that.

Experiencing a burning sensation in your soles after consuming high-glycemic foods could indicate an imbalance in your body’s management of sugars, potentially affecting your Pitta dosha, which governs metabolic processes, including digestion. In Ayurveda, this fiery sensation can be attributed to a disturbance in Pitta, which can lead to symptoms like heat or inflammation. Managing your diet and lifestyle to pacify this dosha can provide relief.

Firstly, consider moderating your intake of high-glycemic foods. These foods, rich in simple carbohydrates, quickly convert into sugar in your bloodstream, which might be causing an agitated reaction in your system. Focus on eating complex carbohydrates that digest slowly, like whole grains, legumes, and plenty of vegetables, as these stabilize blood sugar levels and keep Pitta balanced.

Incorporate cooling herbs and spices in your diet. Turmeric, coriander, and fennel are excellent choices; they can be added to your meals to help soothe and cool your system. Adding a touch of fresh aloe vera or amla juice daily can further support calming Pitta’s heat.

Staying hydrated is essential. Drinking adequate amounts of water and herbal teas, such as chamomile or peppermint, can help regulate your body’s heat. Avoid alcohol and caffeinated beverages which might exacerbate Pitta imbalance.

Engage in daily practices that support relaxation and reduce stress, as both physical and mental stress can provoke Pitta. Meditation and gentle yoga are beneficial, alongside ensuring you’re getting enough rest.

Lastly, consider timing meals to align with your agni, or digestive fire. Eating your largest meal at midday when agni is strongest can assist with more efficient digestion. Evening meals should be lighter to avoid over-stimulation before sleep.
