Firstly, focus on a pitta-pacifying diet to reduce excess heat within the body. Incorporate cooling foods like cucumber, cilantro, and fennel, avoiding spicy, oily, and fried foods. Drink plenty of water and herbal teas like chamomile or mint to keep the body cool and hydrated.
Topically, for pigmentation, you can use a paste of sandalwood and turmeric by mixing equal amounts of both powders with a little rose water. Apply to the affected area, leave it for 15-20 minutes, then wash off with lukewarm water. Do this 2-3 times a week. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties, while sandalwood helps cooling the skin.
For acne scars and large pores, application of aloe vera gel mixed with a few drops of lemon juice can help in evening out the skin tone and tightening the pores. Use it every other day; leave it on for about 20 minutes before rinsing.
