Namaste, Your symptoms — chilblains on hands and feet with cold sensitivity and vata predominance — indicate poor peripheral circulation with vata aggravation, especially due to cold and damp weather. The focus should be on improving circulation, keeping the body warm, and balancing vata. Coffee in small quantity (1 cup in the morning) is generally acceptable, but excess coffee can increase dryness and vata, so it is better to limit it and avoid taking it on an empty stomach. Keep your hands and feet well protected from cold and moisture. Avoid direct exposure to cold wind and damp conditions. Gentle massage of hands and feet daily improves circulation. Warm water soaking (not very hot) can also help. Maintain regular routine and avoid skipping meals. Include warm, nourishing foods like soups, stews, cooked vegetables, whole grains, ghee, nuts (almonds, walnuts), and seeds. Use warming spices like ginger, cumin, and cinnamon in small amounts. Avoid cold foods, raw salads, dry snacks, and excessive caffeine. Ayurvedic medicines with dose and timing: Ashwagandha Churna – 1 teaspoon, once daily with warm milk Dashmoolarishta – 15 ml with equal water, twice daily after food External application: Apply Mahanarayana Taila or Ksheerabala Taila over hands and feet daily, followed by gentle massage These are traditionally used to improve circulation, reduce vata imbalance, and support warmth in the body when combined with proper care. With consistent care, symptoms can improve gradually over a few weeks. Consultation can help tailor this further to your needs.
