Hello, It is quite common to experience lingering soreness or a “dull ache” after passing kidney stones. Since the stones are often jagged, they can cause micro-trauma to the ureter lining and kidney tissues as they move, leading to inflammation that takes time to heal. In Ayurveda, this condition is often linked to an imbalance of Vata Dosha (causing pain) and Pitta Dosha (causing inflammation/burning). For recovery and prevention of recurrence (under the guidance of a practitioner), the following products are highly effective: 1. Bruhat Varunadi kashay (dhootpapeshwar pharmacy) Take 20 ml morning and evening before food. Mixed with equal quantity of water. 2. Punarnavasavam: This is a potent liquid ferment that acts as a natural diuretic. It helps flush out toxins, reduces internal swelling (edema), and aids in healing the urinary tract. Dose: 15–25 ml with an equal amount of lukewarm water, twice daily after meals. 3. Candraprabha Vati: These tablets are excellent for strengthening the kidneys and reducing the “Vata” related back pain. They also help prevent the formation of new crystals. Dose: 1–2 tablets twice daily with water. To ensure those internal “scars” heal and to prevent the stones from coming back in the future, keep these points in mind… Don’t just drink water; sip it throughout the day. Aim for at least 3 liters. Adding Barley water or Coriander seed water helps cool the system. Reduce “high-oxalate” foods like spinach, tomatoes (with seeds), and excessive chocolate. Minimize salt and spicy food, as they can irritate the healing tissues.
