The chances of HIV transmission in the scenario you described are very low, but not zero. HIV is primarily transmitted through unprotected sexual intercourse, blood transfusions, sharing needles, or from mother to child during childbirth or breastfeeding. When it comes to oral sex, the risk significantly decreases, but it is not completely absent. Factors such as the presence of cuts or sores in the mouth or on the genitals can increase this risk slightly.

Regarding other STDs, it is possible to contract infections such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, or herpes through oral sex. These infections can be transmitted through direct contact with infected fluids or sores.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, maintaining balance in your body and keeping your immune system robust can help prevent infections. Ayurvedic practices consider agni (digestive fire) and ojas (vital energy) crucial components of the immune response. Supporting these can enhance your body’s natural defenses.

You can incorporate foods that support the immune system like warm, easily digestible meals and spices such as turmeric, ginger, and tulsi. Start your day with warm ginger tea or tulsi tea, take it before meals to stimulate digestion. Avoid heavy, cold foods that might disturb the agni.

Still, in situations of potential exposure to HIV or STDs, seeking professional medical advice promptly is critical. It’s crucial to get tested for STDs including HIV, to ensure your health and peace of mind. Get tested periodically, as some STDs could remain asymptomatic initially. Try discussing preventive methods with a healthcare provider to understand all available options.
