Yes HIV transmits through oral sex as HIV transmits from one person to other by body fluids like SALIVA, Blood Serum, Lymph, Sexual Fluids.

Use protection during oral sex as well. If the partner ejaculates in your mouth during oral sex then you are exposed to HIV…

It is less potent and less chances as risk is high in anal or vaginal route.

HIV primarily transmits through specific body fluids from a person who has HIV, which includes blood, semen, rectal fluids, vaginal fluids, and breast milk. This mostly happens during unprotected sexual intercourse, including anal and vaginal sex. Sharing needles or syringes for drug use, and accidental needle sticks (primarily for health care workers) are also significant routes.

Now, regarding oral sex - activities like fellatio (blow job) or rimming (oral-anal contact): the risk of HIV transmission is much lower compared to unprotected vaginal or anal sex. However, it’s not zero. Oral sex can still lead to transmission when there are cuts or sores in the mouth, gums, or throat, or if there are certain sexually transmitted infections present which can increase susceptibility.

To mitigate risks, Ayurveda, which emphasizes balance and harmony, would suggest some practices to improve one’s immune system to maintain overall health. While Ayurveda does not specifically address HIV, enhancing the body’s immunity through proper dietary and lifestyle changes is beneficial. Include foods that support Ojas (vitality and immunity) such as ghee, almonds, and dates in your daily diet, these help in bolstering your body’s natural defenses.

In terms of practical recommendations, use protection like dental dams or condoms during oral sex to reduce the chances of transmission. Always ensure any open cuts or sores in the mouth are treated and preferably healed before engaging in oral sex. From an Ayurvedic standpoint, keeping one’s Agni (digestive fire) balanced can be supportive, so consume warm, nourishing meals that are easy to digest.

Moreover, Ayurveda places great importance on mental wellbeing, as stress can affect the immune system. Practicing stress-relief techniques like yoga or meditation daily helps in maintaining physical health.

For any concerns about potential exposure to HIV, it’s crucial to seek professional medical advice immediately. Modern medicine provides options like Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) that needs to be started within 72 hours of potential exposure. Keep in mind that safety is paramount, and taking prompt action is vital.

Thanks so much for clarifying this! I had no idea mixing meds could be risky. I'll stick to my doctor's meds and look into Ayurveda separately.
