HIV transmission from oral sex, like a mouth to penis contact, is considered to have a lower risk compared to other forms of sexual activity. However, it is not entirely risk-free. There's a slight possibility if there are cuts, sores, or bleeding gums in the mouth of the person performing the oral sex. It's always crucial to be informed about the risk factors and take the necessary precautions. Regarding other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), it's possible to contract them through oral-genital contact. Infections like gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, herpes, and hepatitis might be transmitted this way. Identifying symptoms early can help manage them better. Look out for unusual discharge, pain during urination, or sores and seek medical advice if any symptoms appear. In Ayurveda, maintaining balance and health is essential, especially in regards to Agni (digestive fire) and Ojas (vital energy). Supporting your immune system can help your body fight off potential infections. Consider including foods like ginger, turmeric, and tulsi in your diet to boost immunity. Regular yoga and pranayama practices also help maintain equilibrium of the doshas, and strengthen your overall resistance to infections. If you're concerned about potential exposure to HIV or other STDs, it's crucial you take it seriously and consider getting tested. Many centers offer confidential testing and post-exposure prevention options, which can be more effective if taken within a specific timeframe. Please consult with a healthcare professional for testing and guidance. Your health and peace of mind are important, and seeking prompt medical advice is a wise step forward. Remember, using protection during sexual activities can significantly reduce the risk of transmissible infections in the future.
