For addressing extreme dryness with your Pitta-Vata Prakriti, focusing on balancing these doshas is crucial. The dryness and flaky skin can be attributed to a Vata imbalance, while the hyperpigmentation might hint at Pitta involvement. Let’s dive into a suitable routine and solutions:

Internally, hydration is key. Begin your day with a glass of lukewarm water with a teaspoon of organic ghee – this helps to lubricate your tissues internally. Incorporate herbal teas like licorice tea or chamomile tea, both calming and hydrating for Vata-Pitta. A cup mid-morning and another in the afternoon would be beneficial.

In your diet, emphasize warm, cooked foods like soups, stews, and porridges. Drizzle sesame oil or olive oil on your meals – these ground Vata and cool Pitta. Favor sweet, sour, and salty tastes; minimize pungent and astringent foods. Include nuts like soaked almonds, walnuts in your daily intake for their moistening properties.

Externally, consider using a natural oil blend for your skin. A mixture of almond oil and a few drops of rosehip oil can nourish dry skin. Massage your face gently with warm oil, leave for 15-20 minutes, and then wipe off with a damp warm cloth. Regular face masks with fresh cucumber pulp or aloe vera gel are quite soothing too.

Focus on your evening routine: before bed, practice Abhyanga (oil massage) using sesame oil over your entire body to counteract Vata dryness.

Remember, consistency in routine will yield results over time. If issues persist or worsen, it might be beneficial to consult with a healthcare practitioner or an in-person Ayurveda expert who can evaluate your entire health picture.
