In Ayurveda, psoriasis (including nail and scalp psoriasis) is considered to be an imbalance in the Pitta dosha, which governs heat and metabolism in the body. Nail psoriasis typically takes longer to heal due to the slow growth of nails. However, with consistent treatment and lifestyle changes, improvements can be seen over time. Ayurvedic Solutions: Herbal Remedies: Neem: Known for its anti-inflammatory and detoxifying properties, neem can help reduce Pitta and improve skin conditions. You can use neem oil topically or take neem powder under professional guidance. Turmeric: Curcumin in turmeric is anti-inflammatory and can be taken as a supplement or applied topically to help reduce redness and scaling. Triphala: This herb helps detoxify the body and balance the doshas, which can aid in skin and nail health. Dietary Adjustments: Follow a Pitta-balancing diet, focusing on cooling, non-spicy, and non-oily foods. Avoid excess heat-inducing foods like alcohol, caffeine, and fried or fatty foods. Incorporate healthy fats like ghee or coconut oil, which can nourish both the skin and nails. External Treatments: Ghee or Coconut Oil Massage: Apply warm ghee or coconut oil to the affected nails to nourish and hydrate the skin and reduce inflammation. Aloe Vera: Aloe can soothe and heal irritated skin, which is beneficial for psoriasis patches. Stress Management: Since psoriasis can be exacerbated by stress, incorporating practices like yoga, pranayama, and meditation can help reduce flare-ups. How Long to Heal: Nail psoriasis typically takes longer than scalp psoriasis to show visible improvement, and it can take up to 6-12 months with consistent Ayurvedic treatment. Patience and consistency are key, as nails grow slowly. If you restart the treatment, it's important to stick with the regimen for a longer period and consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner for personalized guidance.

Hello Snehal. Your urine report indicates a UTI caused by E. coli with high bacterial presence and elevated pus cells (18-20/hpf), confirming infection. This is inflammation along with Pitta Disha aggravation according to Ayurveda. Start with Tab Gokshuradi guggulu 2 tabs at 6 am & 6 pm with warm water. Tab Chandraprabha vati 1-1-1 before meals. Have water boiled with giloy & dhaniya seeds throughout the day instead of normal water. No dairy/ alcohol/ spicy/salty/ non veg / fermented foods.

Albendazole tablet uses – Can It Treat Parasitic Infections Naturally?

1 answers

A few days ago, my younger sister started having severe stomach pain, bloating, and nausea. At first, we thought it was food poisoning, but then she started losing weight rapidly, even though she was eating normally. She also complained of constant fatigue and an itchy sensation around her anus, especially at night. We finally took her to a doctor, and after some tests, they said she had a parasitic infection and prescribed Albendazole tablets. I looked up Albendazole tablet uses, and I found out that it’s commonly used to treat worms and parasites in the intestines. But I’m worried about possible side effects. Some people say it can cause dizziness, liver issues, and stomach pain. Is it safe to take for a long time, or should we look for alternative treatments? I also read that Ayurveda has natural deworming remedies that don’t have harmful side effects. Are there Ayurvedic herbs or home remedies that work as effectively as Albendazole tablets? And if yes, how long does the treatment take? Another concern I have is reinfection. If my sister had worms, could the rest of the family be at risk too? How do we prevent parasites from coming back after taking Albendazole tablets? Should we all take some kind of Ayurvedic detox? If anyone has experience treating parasitic infections naturally, please share what worked for you. I want to make sure we take the right approach and prevent this from happening again.

Parasitic infections are quite common, especially in children, and Albendazole is an effective antiparasitic medication that helps eliminate worms from the intestines. However, it may cause mild side effects like nausea, dizziness, or stomach discomfort in some individuals. While a short course of Albendazole is generally safe, long-term use is not recommended without medical supervision. If you're concerned about side effects, Ayurvedic alternatives like Vidanga (Embelia ribes), Neem, and Krimighna (worm-destroying) herbs can be used to naturally expel parasites and strengthen digestion. Triphala is also beneficial for cleansing the intestines and preventing reinfection. In Ayurveda, parasitic infections are linked to an imbalance in Pitta and Kapha doshas, creating a favorable environment for worms. Ayurvedic deworming remedies include taking Vidanga powder with honey, neem leaf juice, or garlic and turmeric-infused water, which have strong antiparasitic properties. Drinking buttermilk with ajwain (carom seeds) or papaya seed extract can also help expel worms. These remedies should be followed for at least two weeks, depending on the severity of the infection. Additionally, maintaining good gut health with digestive spices like cumin, fennel, and black pepper can help prevent future infections. To prevent reinfection, it’s important to ensure proper hygiene—regularly washing hands, keeping nails short, and disinfecting bed linens and clothes. Since parasitic infections can spread within households, other family members may also benefit from a mild Ayurvedic detox using Triphala churna or neem tea. Avoiding raw or undercooked food, ensuring proper food hygiene, and drinking boiled or filtered water can further reduce the risk. If your sister’s symptoms persist, consulting an Ayurvedic practitioner can help tailor a treatment plan specific to her needs.

Infection in blood

The presence of tuberculosis infection in the blood can weaken the immune system and impact fertility, contributing to recurrent IVF failures and miscarriage. In Ayurveda, this is viewed as an imbalance of all three doshas, particularly affecting Ojas (vital energy) and Shukra Dhatu (reproductive tissue). To manage this, I recommend Guduchi Satva and Ashwagandha Churna to boost immunity and strengthen the body. Chyawanprash should be taken daily to enhance vitality and restore Ojas. For detoxification and balancing doshas, Kanchanar Guggulu is advised. Additionally, Punarnava Mandur helps in purifying the blood and reducing inflammation. For reproductive health, Shatavari is beneficial to nourish and strengthen the reproductive system. Along with these medications, a Pitta-pacifying diet, stress management techniques, and regular follow-up with a healthcare provider for tuberculosis treatment and fertility support are essential.

I’m sorry to hear you’ve been struggling with chronic cough for such a long time. In Ayurveda, a persistent cough can be related to an imbalance in the "Kapha" dosha, which governs the mucous and respiratory functions. Since you've tried various treatments, it might help to look at a holistic approach. A tailored Ayurvedic remedy could include specific herbs like Tulsi (Holy Basil), Ginger, Licorice (Yashtimadhu), and Pippali (Long Pepper) to soothe the throat and clear excess mucus. Also, balancing your diet to avoid cold, heavy foods and including warm, easily digestible meals can help. You may want to explore Panchakarma treatments with an experienced practitioner, as detoxifying the body could be beneficial. Additionally, it’s important to consider environmental factors such as allergies or pollutants that might trigger the cough. A thorough examination of your history with a skilled Ayurvedic doctor could uncover the underlying causes, and long-term management could include a combination of herbal treatments, diet adjustments, and lifestyle changes.

parotid gland duct

2 answers

I’ve recently been learning about the different glands in the body, and I came across the term parotid gland duct. From what I understand, the parotid glands are the largest salivary glands, located near the ears, but I’m a bit confused about how they work and the role of the parotid gland duct in the process of producing saliva. I’ve read that the parotid gland duct, also known as Stensen’s duct, carries saliva from the parotid glands into the mouth, but I’d love to know more about how this system functions and why it's so important for the body. From my research, I learned that the parotid glands produce saliva, which is essential for digestion, oral health, and even protecting the teeth from decay. But how does the parotid gland duct ensure that saliva flows properly from the parotid gland to the mouth? Is the flow of saliva controlled by anything specific, like muscle action or hormonal signals? I know that saliva contains enzymes like amylase, which helps break down food, but is the parotid gland’s saliva different from that produced by other salivary glands, such as the submandibular or sublingual glands? I’ve also heard that sometimes the parotid gland duct can become blocked or infected, leading to a condition known as parotitis. What are the causes of a blocked or infected parotid duct, and how can it be treated? Is it possible for stones to form in the duct, causing pain and swelling, and if so, what are the best ways to remove or manage these issues? Are there signs that indicate the parotid gland duct might be blocked, such as swelling near the jaw or difficulty swallowing? I’m curious if there are lifestyle factors or habits that could affect the health of the parotid gland duct. For example, I’ve heard that dehydration or poor oral hygiene could impact saliva production. How can I ensure that my parotid glands and their ducts are functioning optimally? Has anyone here experienced issues with the parotid gland duct or parotitis? What symptoms did you notice, and how did you address the problem? How important is it to maintain the health of the salivary glands for overall oral health?

What is the best Ayurvedic ringworm infection treatment?

1 answers

A few weeks ago, I noticed a small, red, itchy patch on my upper thigh. At first, I thought it was just a rash from sweating too much, but within days, it started spreading in a circular shape. The itching got worse, especially at night, and sometimes the area would feel like it was burning. I went to a local doctor, and he told me it's a fungal infection and gave me an antifungal cream. But even after using it for two weeks, the infection hasn’t completely gone away. The redness reduces a bit, but then it flares up again. Now I have two more patches on my waist and under my arm, and it’s driving me crazy. I searched online and found that this is ringworm infection, and it seems like a common problem. But the issue is, my infection keeps coming back even after applying the cream. My skin feels dry and irritated from the chemicals, and I don’t want to keep using steroids or strong antifungal creams. That’s when I thought of trying an Ayurvedic ringworm infection treatment. I’ve heard that Ayurveda focuses on treating the root cause rather than just the symptoms. Are there any Ayurvedic herbs or pastes that work better than these chemical creams? What is the best Ayurvedic ringworm infection treatment for stubborn fungal infections? Can diet play a role in preventing this? I also have a habit of wearing tight clothes, especially during workouts – could that be making it worse? Should I change my lifestyle or follow any special Ayurvedic detox? If anyone has successfully treated ringworm infection using Ayurveda, please share what remedies worked. I’m tired of this coming back again and again.

Ringworm, or Dadru Kushta in Ayurveda, is caused by an imbalance of Kapha and Pitta doshas, leading to excessive heat and moisture in the skin, creating the perfect environment for fungal growth. To treat it naturally, apply a paste of Neem leaves, Turmeric, and Aloe Vera on the affected area to reduce itching and kill the fungus. Haridra (Turmeric) and Manjistha are powerful blood purifiers, and drinking Neem or Giloy juice daily helps cleanse the body from within. Avoid scratching, and apply coconut oil mixed with camphor for soothing relief. Diet plays a crucial role in preventing recurrence. Avoid sugary, fried, and dairy-heavy foods, as they increase moisture and aggravate fungal infections. Include bitter foods like Neem, Karela (bitter gourd), and Methi (fenugreek) to detox the body. Hydrate well, and consume Triphala churna at night to keep digestion strong, as weak digestion can lead to toxin buildup in the skin. Wearing loose, cotton clothing and keeping the skin dry, especially in sweaty areas, is essential to prevent fungal growth. For a long-term solution, Ayurvedic detox (Panchakarma), especially Virechana (purgation therapy), helps remove deep-seated toxins and prevents fungal infections from recurring. Practicing daily Abhyanga (oil massage) with antifungal oils like Neem or Mahamarichyadi Taila strengthens the skin’s defense. With the right herbs, diet, and lifestyle changes, you can completely eliminate ringworm naturally without depending on chemical-based treatments.

Fournier Gangrene - Can Ayurveda Help in Recovery?

2 answers

A few weeks ago, my uncle, who is 58 years old and diabetic, was diagnosed with Fournier gangrene. It all started with some pain and swelling in the groin area, which he initially ignored, thinking it was just a skin infection. But within a few days, his condition worsened. The pain became unbearable, and there was a foul smell from the infected area. When we rushed him to the hospital, the doctors said it was Fournier gangrene and needed immediate surgery. The doctors have already done debridement, and he is currently on antibiotics. They said the infection had spread fast, and his diabetes made it worse. Now, we are worried about his healing and long-term recovery. His immunity is weak, and he takes a long time to recover from even minor wounds. I wanted to ask if Ayurveda has any approach to supporting recovery from Fournier gangrene? Are there any Ayurvedic remedies, herbal treatments, or dietary changes that can help in wound healing and prevent further infections? Since this condition is related to infections spreading quickly in the tissues, is there any Ayurvedic way to purify the blood and boost immunity to avoid complications? Another concern is that he is feeling very weak after the surgery. He has lost a lot of energy and appetite. Can Ayurveda help in regaining strength and improving digestion after such a severe illness? Are there specific oils or herbal pastes that can help in healing the wound faster? Would love to hear if anyone has used Ayurvedic treatments in similar situations and what results they saw. Looking forward to expert insights on this.

In Ayurveda, Fournier gangrene and similar infections are seen as a manifestation of deep-seated imbalances in the body, often related to an accumulation of toxins (Ama) and a weakened immune system. The fast progression of infection, particularly in diabetics, suggests an imbalance in Agni (digestive fire) and Ojas (vital energy). To support recovery, Ayurveda focuses on purifying the blood, enhancing immunity, and promoting wound healing. Herbs like Guduchi, Ashwagandha, and Triphala can help boost immunity and promote detoxification. For wound healing, Aloe Vera, Turmeric, and Neem can be applied as pastes or taken internally to reduce inflammation and infection. Diet should be light, easily digestible, and rich in nutrients, with a focus on warm foods like soups and stews, as well as ghee for healing. Including antioxidants like vitamin C-rich foods and consuming herbs such as Amla can also support tissue regeneration. To restore strength and digestion, Ayurveda recommends herbal tonics such as Chyawanprash and digestive aids like ginger and cumin. Additionally, daily Abhyanga (self-massage) with medicated oils like Dhanwantharam Taila can improve circulation and promote faster healing. With a supportive, holistic approach, Ayurveda can complement conventional treatments and help improve overall recovery and well-being.

Candida Infection: How Can Ayurveda Help Me Manage It?

1 answers

I’ve been struggling with a candida infection for a while now, and I’m really getting frustrated. I’ve read some about candida and its impact on the body, and it seems like my symptoms match what I’ve seen online, but I’m wondering if Ayurveda has any suggestions for treatment that can help me feel better. It all started a few months ago when I began noticing some unusual symptoms. At first, it was just a bit of fatigue, which I thought was related to stress. But then, I started getting digestive issues, including bloating, constipation, and a general feeling of heaviness after eating. I also began to feel this persistent itching in areas like my skin, especially in warm places like between my toes and around my groin. Then, I started to notice some white patches on my tongue, which really worried me. I went to my doctor, who diagnosed me with a candida infection. The doctor put me on an antifungal medication, and while it helped a little, I’ve been reading about how the medication doesn’t always fix the root of the problem. After the treatment, I felt okay for a short while, but then the symptoms returned, especially the digestive issues and fatigue. I know that candida can be linked to diet, stress, and even lifestyle, so I’ve been trying to pay more attention to what I eat. But despite eating a clean, anti-fungal diet (cutting out sugar and carbs), I still feel like I’m not fully healing. I’ve been hearing a lot about Ayurvedic treatments for infections like candida and I’m wondering if Ayurveda can offer a more holistic approach to managing the infection. Can Ayurveda help balance my gut flora naturally and strengthen my digestive system to fight the candida? I’m particularly curious about any herbs or natural remedies in Ayurveda that target candida infections. I’ve read about neem, garlic, and turmeric being helpful for gut health and infections, but I’m unsure how to incorporate them effectively into my routine. Additionally, I’m dealing with a lot of stress, which I’m sure is affecting my immune system and making it harder to recover. Does Ayurveda have any treatments or lifestyle suggestions that can help with stress management? Could these help reduce my candida symptoms as well? Has anyone else dealt with a candida infection and found relief through Ayurveda? What kinds of treatments worked best for you? I’m really looking for something that can help me get my gut and immune system back on track.

Candida overgrowth in Ayurveda is often linked to weak digestion (low Agni), excess mucus (Kapha), and toxin buildup (Ama) in the body. While antifungal medications provide temporary relief, they don’t address the underlying imbalance, which is why infections tend to return. Ayurveda focuses on cleansing the gut, improving digestion, and restoring microbial balance to naturally prevent candida from thriving. Neem, turmeric, and Triphala are commonly used to detoxify the system, reduce fungal overgrowth, and strengthen the immune response. Drinking neem tea or taking capsules, consuming turmeric with warm water, and taking Triphala at night can help clear out toxins and restore balance. Diet plays a crucial role in controlling candida. Ayurveda recommends avoiding sugar, refined carbs, dairy, and fermented foods, as they feed fungal growth. Instead, bitter and astringent foods like bitter gourd, fenugreek, and leafy greens help detoxify the gut. Drinking cumin-coriander-fennel tea supports digestion and reduces bloating, while coconut oil, which contains natural antifungal compounds, can be incorporated into meals. Since stress weakens digestion and immunity, practicing Pranayama (breathwork), yoga, and meditation can help regulate the nervous system and prevent recurring infections. For long-term relief, lifestyle adjustments are essential. Getting enough sleep, following a regular eating schedule, and avoiding late-night meals allow the body to detox and heal. Abhyanga (self-massage with warm sesame oil) and dry brushing (Garshana) can stimulate circulation and help eliminate toxins. Most people notice improvement within 3-6 weeks, but chronic cases may take a few months.
