I recently had a liver function test done because I’ve been feeling fatigued, bloated, and sometimes even nauseous after eating. My doctor suggested the test to check if my liver is functioning properly, but now that I have the results, I don’t fully understand what they mean. From what I’ve read, a liver function test measures things like ALT, AST, bilirubin, and alkaline phosphatase, but what do these numbers actually indicate? If some of them are slightly high, does that mean I have liver disease, or is it something that can be fixed with diet and lifestyle changes? I also drink alcohol occasionally—could that have affected my liver function test results? And what about my diet? I do eat a lot of fried foods and sugar, so could that be putting stress on my liver? I’ve heard that Ayurveda focuses on detoxifying the liver naturally. Are there any Ayurvedic herbs like bhumi amla, kutki, or triphala that actually help improve liver function test results? Also, should I be doing any specific detoxes to cleanse my liver? If anyone has had abnormal liver function test results and was able to improve them naturally, please share what worked. Should I be worried, or is this something I can fix with the right changes?
