Namaste Ayurveda Pandits, As a retired Professor of Philosophy age 77 yeas, Now, Iam regularly taking suvarnabhasma premium qauality, by Dhoot papaeshvara, avilable in local Ayurveda shop. Since, I have positive benefits to improve my over all health , after eliminating coufh, pure digestion, etc., I would like to continue suvarna bhasma daily one time with honey mixed in hot water. Also I prefer Triphala powder decoction daily once or twice. Hope to receice your suggestion. Best regards, Dr.RACHAPP INGALHALLI

For Suvarna Bhasma, typically a very small dose is used, commonly around 15 mg to 30 mg per day, mixed with honey as you mentioned. Nonetheless, ensure you adjust the dose as needed, given the elderly age factor, making sure it’s not exacerbating any hidden conditions or interacting negatively with other medications.

Moving to Triphala, it’s generally safer and is known for supporting digestion and regular bowel movements. A decoction or powder of about 3-5 grams taken at night with warm water is what is often recommended for complete colon cleansing and good digestion. Using it twice daily is usually acceptable, but monitor how your body responds to avoid over-dependence or any laxative effect.

Be sure you balance these supplements with a diet that matches your Dosha Prakriti. Also, maintain a consistent routine with meals and rest, supporting your agni (digestive fire).
