In addressing heavy menstrual bleeding, particularly in the context of suspected PCOS where hormonal balance is crucial, Ayurveda offers various interventions. First off, the goal is to pacify aggravated Kapha and Vata doshas, which are often implicated in conditions like PCOS and related symptoms.

Dietary adjustments can strongly influence menstrual health. Encouraging intake of light, easily digestible foods such as steamed vegetables, fiber-rich fruits, and whole grains may help. These help in balancing Kapha and contributing to weight management. Avoiding heavy, oily, or overly sweet foods can prevent further Kapha congestion.

In terms of herbs, Ashoka (Saraca indica) is traditionally used to manage excessive bleeding due to its astringent properties. Continued use of Ashokarishi might support in stabilizing your cycle. Another option could be Lodhra (Symplocos racemosa) – known for its hemostatic properties – consider consulting with your Ayurvedic practitioner to integrate it.

Managing stress levels with regular meditation or pranayama may also balance Vata and improve hormonal stability. Specific techniques like Anulom Vilom or Shitali Pranayama might be beneficial – aim for about 15-20 minutes daily.

Additionally, incorporating yoga poses like Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose) or Supta Baddha Konasana (Reclined Bound Angle Pose) can support reproductive health and improve circulation. Practice these postures under guidance if you’re not experienced.

Finally, make sure to keep track of your cycles and symptoms. If the bleeding becomes unmanageable again or if you experience any alarming symptoms, seeking immediate medical attention is essential. While Ayurveda can offer relief and support, medical interventions should not be delayed in severe cases.

In this scenario, her experience of heavy menstrual bleeding might be linked to the existing imbalance in the doshas, most likely involving vata and pitta. The combination of ayurvedic formulations she’s taking probably helped restart her cycle by energizing her reproductive system, yet doesn’t address the increased pitta that might be driving the bleeding.

First, consider incorporating Ashokarishtam, a well-known formulation in Ayurveda for reducing excessive menstrual bleeding. It balances the pitta and strengthens the endometrial lining. 30 ml of Ashokarishtam diluted in equal parts water can be taken after meals twice daily.

Include a teaspoon of Amalaki (Indian gooseberry) powder with a glass of water daily—its cooling properties can help moderate pitta and support overall health. Additionally, consider drinking coriander seed tea (boil 1 tsp of seeds in a cup of water and strain), as it can help regulate bleeding.

Work on dietary adjustments by including more cooling & hydrating foods like cucumber, coconut water, and pomegranate. Avoid excessively spicy or fried foods, which can aggravate pitta and vata imbalance.

Since she’s experiencing symptoms such as weight gain and hair growth, suggesting hormonal fluctuations possibly related to PCOD, it’s advisable to monitor her condition regularly and potentially adjust current medication. Given that this bleeding could indicate something more serious, such as uterine health concerns, she should seek prompt medical evaluation if the bleeding remains uncontrolled to rule out acute issues.
