For addressing knee pain and vertigo at age 65, Ayurveda provides supportive approaches that can be integrated with current medications under supervision of a healthcare professional. Knee pain in older adults often relates to the degenerative aspect of vata dosha. To help balance this, one might incorporate gentle joint-specific exercises such as simple leg lifts or seated leg extensions daily to maintain joint flexibility and strength. Avoid high-impact activities which could worsen pain. Focus on nourishing the joints with warm sesame or Mahanarayan oil massages, which could provide some relief if done gently once a day.

Dietary changes can support vata balance too. Encourage foods that are warm, cooked, and mildly spiced. Include a range of vegetables, especially those stewed with spices like cumin and turmeric, which possess anti-inflammatory properties. Avoid cold and processed foods which might aggravate vata dosha. A small glass of medicinal herbal tea made from ginger and turmeric, taken twice a day, could provide additional relief from inflammation and discomfort.

Addressing vertigo, paying attention to lifestyle can aid your mum’s condition. Ensure she gets adequate rest and a regular sleep schedule, promoting overall neurological calmness. Encourage a regulated daily routine that includes stress-reducing practices, such as gentle yoga or breathing exercises. Limit caffeine and nicotine which can exacerbate dizziness. Also, keep hydration in check—ensure adequate fluid intake.

These Ayurvedic suggestions can be supportive, but given her prescription and ongoing medical conditions, do discuss any changes with her healthcare provider to ensure they harmonize with her current treatment plan. If her symptoms persist or worsen, further medical evaluation might be necessary.
