how long does amla take to reverse grey hair - #25148

Logan

I am really worried about my hair! I've started noticing grey hair popping up since I turned 35, and I can't help but wonder, how long does amla take to reverse grey hair? I read a lot about its benefits and even started taking amla powder mixed with water every morning. I do remember my grandma saying how her beautiful black hair was thanks to amla back in the day. But, if I'm honest, I've been at it for a couple of months now and I ain't seen much change. My hair seems to be getting even more grey, which is super frustrating! I also tried amla oil on my scalp and it's quite greasy but I do like the fresh feeling. Maybe I’m not using it right? Like, do I need to apply it differently or wait longer for results?? Also, should I combine it with other herbs or natural stuff? Just trying to figure out the best way to go about it. Any tips or advice would help! Would love to hear how long does amla take to reverse grey hair for others. Thanks a ton!

Amla, or Indian Gooseberry, is indeed highly valued in Ayurveda for its ability to nourish the hair and scalp. When it comes to reversing grey hair, it does play a part, but results can vary greatly depending on several factors like your prakriti (constitution), dosha imbalance, diet, and emotional well-being. Usually, using amla for greying hair is a long-term remedy. You are likely to see noticeable results only after 3-6 months of consistent use. But keep in mind that amla works best not just as a standalone remedy, but when incorporated into a holistic lifestyle approach. Firstly, your morning amla routine with powder is good as it promotes overall health, which reflects in hair quality over time. Continue taking it daily, but consider combining with other herbs known for hair health, like Brahmi and Bhringraj. These can be taken as supplements or added to your hair oil. When applying amla oil, massage gently into your scalp once or twice a week, leaving it on for at least a couple of hours before washing it out. Doing this encourages circulation in your scalp, promoting the healthy growth and nourishment of hair follicles. It might be greasy, but regular application exfoliates the scalp, fortifying the hair roots. Including a balanced diet rich in iron, copper, and protein supports the body's hair production mechanism. Foods like spinach, almonds, and lentils align with Ayurvedic principles for nurturing hair's natural color and preventing premature greying. Also, consider lifestyle routines that pacify vata dosha, often responsible for hair issues: practice yoga or meditation, and ensure adequate sleep. Reducing stress is crucial since stress can exacerbate premature greying. Patience will be key; ayurvedic approaches are gradual and respect the body's own pace of natural restoration. You should see a gradual reduction in greying if you stick with it — just be consistent, and give it time.
