how to reach kerala from delhi - #25449

Olivia

I am planning a trip to Kerala from Delhi and I'm kinda lost on the whole thing. I’ve heard so much about the beauty of Kerala and I really wanna experience the backwaters and the ayurvedic treatments there! But here’s the thing, I don't know how to reach Kerala from Delhi. I mean, there’s flights for sure, but I also thought maybe there are trains or buses? Someone told me the train journey could be really scenic but I can't find much info on that. I looked up a few flight options, but those prices seem to fluctuate a lot! And what if there are better ways? Like, what are the best routes to take if I’m road-tripping? How to reach Kerala from Delhi without stressing too much? If anyone has tips on booking transport that’s not gonna break the bank, or like any hidden gems along the way, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!

Traveling to Kerala from Delhi offers several modes of transport, each with its own charm and a chance to discover diverse landscapes across India. If you're inclined towards speed and convenience, catching a flight would indeed be the quickest way. The flights depart frequently from Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi and land at various airports in Kerala including Kochi, Trivandrum or Kozhikode. Monitoring flight prices regularly and booking well in advance can help you to grab some deals. But considering your interest in the scenic route, the train journey may catch your interest. The Indian Railways has numerous trains that run between Delhi and Kerala, such as the Kerala Express, Nizamuddin Express or Mangala Lakshadweep Express. This trip can take about 45 to 50 hours, giving you a panoramic view of the changing countryside from the arid zones in the north to the lush green landscapes down south. Tickets for trains can fluctuate so it’s advisable to book as early as possible through the IRCTC website. The roadtrip idea sounds exciting! You can embark on a drive from Delhi to Kerala through NH44, covering about 2700 km. It's a long journey and can take around 40 hours direct driving time by car, but gives you room for spontaneity with numerous stops along the route. Ensure your vehicle is in good condition and check for reliable places to rest en route, chamging weather and road conditions. Buses do offer and economical option with operators like KSRTC and private services running routes; however, the time factor makes it less workable for many travelers. Whatever mode you choose, researching a bit on rates and advance bookings always aids in managing costs. Planning a trip involves these choices, but the experiences you'll gain in the beautiful settings and enriching traditions of Kerala will certainly make it worthwhile! Safe travels.
