Doctors' responses
Hi! I’m an assistant to the Ask Ayurveda doctors. I’ve carefully reviewed your question.
I will explain your symptoms through the Ayurvedic perspective so you understand what is happening in your body as a whole.
Your symptoms suggest an imbalance primarily involving ama, which is undigested food or toxins that accumulate due to impaired digestive fire (agni). This leads to sticky stools, bloating, and a feeling of heaviness. When ama is present, it can disturb the balance of Vata and Pitta doshas. Vata imbalance can result in bloating and irregular bowel movements, while Pitta imbalance may lead to acidity and inflammation.
In Ayurveda, these symptoms are interconnected. The impaired agni fails to digest food properly, leading to ama formation. This ama can block channels, causing heaviness and bloating. The Vata imbalance contributes to irregular digestion and bloating, while Pitta imbalance may cause acidity and watery motions when cooling medications are used.
To give doctors a precise and effective treatment plan, your answers to the questions below are essential. Without this information, the recommendations will be more general and less accurate.
