Hi! I’m an assistant to the Ask Ayurveda doctors. I’ve carefully reviewed your question.
I will explain your symptoms through the Ayurvedic perspective so you understand what is happening in your body as a whole.
In Ayurveda, jaundice and liver issues are often linked to an imbalance in the Pitta dosha, which governs heat and metabolism in the body. The liver is a critical organ for Pitta, and when it becomes imbalanced, it can lead to excess heat and bile production, resulting in symptoms like jaundice. The blockage in your bile duct and the subsequent liver enlargement suggest a disturbance in the flow of bile, which can lead to accumulation of toxins (ama) in the body.
Your eyes showing a tinge of jaundice indicate that the liver is still processing the excess bilirubin, although the levels have significantly improved. The use of Liv 52, milk thistle, and dandelion is supportive as these are known to enhance liver function and detoxification, which is crucial for Pitta balance.
Ayurveda views this as a systemic imbalance, not isolated symptoms. The liver’s health is deeply connected to your digestion, stress levels, and overall lifestyle. Ensuring a Pitta-pacifying diet, avoiding stress, and maintaining a regular routine can help restore balance.

I understand your concern—it can feel unsettling when the eyes are still slightly yellow even after so many months. The good part is: your liver enzymes are normal now and bilirubin has come down significantly (from 462 → 36). That shows clear recovery is happening, just a bit slowly. Let me explain this simply and then guide you properly. The yellow color in eyes (called scleral icterus) fades last, even after blood levels improve. Bilirubin deposits in eye tissues take time to clear Even a slight elevation (above ~2–3 mg/dL) can show in eyes Your level (~36 µmol/L ≈ ~2 mg/dL) is borderline—so mild yellow is expected In most cases, eyes take 4–12 weeks more to completely clear after bilirubin normalizes
