Hi! I’m an assistant to the Ask Ayurveda doctors. I’ve carefully reviewed your question.
I will explain your symptoms through the Ayurvedic perspective so you understand what is happening in your body as a whole.
The burning and biting sensations you’re experiencing are indicative of Pitta imbalance, which is characterized by excess heat and inflammation in the digestive tract. This can lead to discomfort and irritation, as seen in your symptoms of gastritis and heartburn. The repeated use of antibiotics, while necessary, may have further aggravated this Pitta imbalance by disrupting your gut flora and digestive fire (Agni).
Your weight loss and fatigue suggest a depletion of Ojas, the vital energy that sustains health and vitality, often affected by chronic digestive issues. This depletion can also contribute to feelings of tiredness and stress, which may further exacerbate your symptoms.
The connection between your symptoms and digestion is strong, as Ayurveda views the digestive system as central to overall health. Weak Agni can lead to the accumulation of Ama, or toxins, which can cause systemic imbalances affecting your energy levels and even hair health.
To give doctors a precise and effective treatment plan, your answers to the questions below are essential. Without this information, the recommendations will be more general and less accurate.
Please answer each question as clearly as possible.

Choose from mild, moderate, severe, or very severe. 3. Have you noticed any specific foods that trigger your symptoms, such as spicy, dairy, or fried foods? 4. ●When should one eat? Eating should be done only when the previous meal has been completely digested. Signs: • A clear feeling of hunger • A light stomach • A clear belching • A feeling of lethargy • A desire for food Eating by looking at the clock gradually confuses the agni (fire). Why is Agni most important? According to the Ashtanga Hridaya, the root cause of most diseases is weak Agni. When Agni is weak: • Food is not digested properly • Ama is formed • Gas, heaviness, skin diseases, and fatigue increase. When Agni is balanced: • The body feels light • Energy is maintained Skin, mind, and digestion all improve. What should be the quantity of food? Ayurveda says: Half of the stomach should be filled with food, one-quarter with water, and one-quarter should be kept empty. If the stomach is filled to the brim, the agni (fire) does not have space to function. This is why heaviness, laziness, and sleepiness occur after excessive eating. What is a contradictory diet? Eating certain foods together creates “contradictory diets” in the body. For example: • Milk and salt • Milk and citrus fruits • Heavy meals with fruit • Yogurt at night • Cold water immediately after a meal Such combinations cause disease gradually, not immediately. ●Ajwain - Appetizer, digestive, worm killer Gud - Mild purgative, dosha remover Together this combination makes a worm killing medicine - which eliminates worms (stomach worms) from the body. How to Use: Take this pill three times a day. Suitable for both children and adults. Take it regularly for just two days. ●Medicinal Formula IBS Balancing Blend Shatavari - 1 part Kamdudha - 1% part Shankha Bhasma - 1/2 part Arrowroot - 2 parts These four together: Soothes intestinal irritation, reduces acidity Strengthens the colon, stabilizes Vata ●How to consume this mixture: Take 1/2 teaspoon twice a day with a little lukewarm water, immediately after meals. This time is chosen because the digestive system and digestive tract can then absorb the medicine properly. ●Vata-Pacifying Tea Flaxseed Tea: Boil 1 teaspoon of flaxseed in 1 cup of water, strain, and drink before bed. It: Soothes the intestines Reduces Vata dryness Soothes pain and cramps ●Isabgol Subscribe Teaspoon Plain water - 1/2 cup This combination: Psyllium husk - 1 teaspoon 1 hour after dinner • Lubricates the intestinal lining • Helps shape stools • Reduces gas, distension, and irritation • Soothes colon sensitivity
