• Winsoria Oil: Apply a sufficient amount to the affected areas 2 to 3 times a day. Gently massage the oil until it is absorbed. For long-term relief, it is often recommended to apply this oil and leave it on for at least 30 minutes before bathing. Above 2 medications are instructed in prescription how to take . Gentle Pat Drying: Always pat the skin dry with a soft cotton towel. Vigorous rubbing can cause “Koebner’s phenomenon,” where trauma to the skin triggers new psoriasis lesions. • Morning Sunlight: Brief exposure (10–15 minutes) to early morning sunlight can be beneficial. The natural UV rays can help slow down the rapid skin cell turnover characteristic of psoriasis. • Internal Hydration: Drink plenty of lukewarm water throughout the day. In Ayurveda, keeping the digestive tract hydrated is essential for balancing the “heat” that affects the skin. • Avoid Hot Water: Never use hot water for bathing. Heat strips away natural oils and can aggravate itching and inflammation. Stick to lukewarm or room-temperature water. • Limit Incompatible Foods: Avoid Viruddha Ahara, such as mixing milk with fish, salt, or sour fruits. These combinations are believed to create toxins (Amavisha) that manifest as skin disorders. • Reduce Pungent/Sour Foods: Minimize the intake of pickles, vinegar, chilies, and fermented foods (like curd). These are “Pitta-aggravating” and often lead to increased redness and scaling. • Don’t Scratch: While difficult, scratching can lead to infections and thicker plaques

Hello, Managing psoriasis effectively requires a balance of internal detoxification and consistent external care. From an Ayurvedic perspective, psoriasis (often correlated with Kustha) is viewed as an imbalance of Vata and Kapha doshas, which leads to the accumulation of toxins (Ama) in the blood and skin tissues. To move beyond temporary control, the focus must shift from just treating the skin to purifying the blood and improving liver function. This prevents the “flare-up” cycle by addressing the root cause of inflammation. These traditional formulations are designed to complement your current topical routine by cleaning the internal system. 1. Psorakot Tablet: This is a specialized systemic treatment for psoriasis. It helps in skin cell regeneration and reduces itching. Dose: 2 tablets twice daily after food. 2. Mahathikthakam Kwath Liquid: A potent blood purifier and anti-inflammatory. It is excellent for reducing the redness and scaling associated with mild flare-ups. Dose: 15ml (diluted with 60ml lukewarm water) twice daily on an empty stomach. 3. Liposem Tablet: While often used for cholesterol, in Ayurveda, it is used to cleanse the medas (fatty tissues) and improve metabolic waste clearance, which aids skin clarity. Dose: 1 tablet twice daily after food. Lifestyle Tips for Sustained Remission Avoid Viruddha Ahara: Do not combine milk with fish, salt, or sour fruits, as this is a primary cause of skin toxins in Ayurveda. Moisturization: Continue using your Kayakalp oil, but apply it immediately after a bath while the skin is still slightly damp to lock in maximum moisture. Stress Management: Psoriasis is highly reactive to stress. Incorporating 10 minutes of Pranayama (deep breathing) daily can significantly extend your relief periods.

The condition which you describe is due to em balance of vata kapha which involves the accumulation of toxins in the blood and muscle tissue. So our focus is on blood purification and immune modulation 1) Patolakaturohinyadi kwath- 15 ml mix with 45 ml Luke warm water twice daily 30 minute before food 2) guggluthiktakam kwath tablet- two tablet twice daily with kwath 3) avipathi churna- 1 tsf with warm water once a week at bed time 4) psoria oil- apply on affected area 30 minute before bath and go to mild sunlight if 5) winsoria oil - apply on dry patches after bath or at bed time Favor Bitter gourds (Karela), bottle gourds (Lauki), moong dal, pomegranate, and leafy greens. Use small amounts of Ghee (as it helps pacify Vata and Pitta). Avoid Strictly avoid combining milk with salt, fish, or sour fruits. Fermented Foods: Curd (especially at night), pickles, vinegar, and bakery items with yeast. Excessive Salt/Sour: Reduce intake of sea salt, tamarind, and chilies. Refined flour (Maida)

You’ve done well with Kayakalp products—they help at the skin level. Now, to get longer relief, we need to work a little deeper. Even though your digestion is good (which is great), flare-ups suggest: Residual pitta heat in blood (rakta dushti) Mild immune over-reactivity Possible micro-trigger from stress, weather, or hidden dietary factors External oils alone don’t fully clear this. You’ll need gentle, sustained detox—not aggressive. Recommended : kaishore guggulu – 1 tab twice daily after food mahamanjishtadi kashayam – 15 ml + equal water, twice daily before food These work on: Blood purification Reducing inflammation Preventing new lesions To reduce recurrence tendency: avipattikar churna – ½ tsp at night with warm water This helps: Keep pitta in control Prevent flare triggers from inside You can continue Kayakalp oil, but: Apply after bath on slightly damp skin Avoid overuse if skin gets dry Optional upgrade : Rotate with neelibhringadi tailam for soothing effect Strictly reduce: Curd (especially at night) Sour + fermented foods Excess spicy, fried food Packaged snacks You’re already on a good path—this just needs internal correction to match your external care. Psoriasis needs consistency more than intensity. Please start the above Ayurvedic treatment regularly and observe the response. Follow-up after 2–3 weeks is very important so we can assess your progress and make any necessary adjustments in medicines or dosage. Take care

What You Should Do for 1. 🧠 Internal Treatment Useful Ayurvedic Medicines: mahamanjisthadi Kwath khadirarishta arogyavardhini Vati gandhak Rasayan Panchtikta Ghrita 👉 These work deeper than Kayakalp alone 2. 🧴 External (Continue but Modify) Kayakalp oil is fine, but for better results rotate with: Karanj oil Mahamarichyadi oil Neem oil (diluted) 👉 rotation prevents resistance + better skin response 3. 🔥 shodhana Therapy (GAME CHANGER) If you want long-term remission: ✔️ virechana (Purgation therapy) best for psoriasis (Kushtha) benefits: removes Pitta from root reduces recurrence clears skin deeply 👉 highly recommended once under supervision 4. 🥗 diet – You’re already doing good, refine it Continue: ✔ gluten-free ✔ light, easy digestion add: neem leaves (empty stomach occasionally) amla daily turmeric + black pepper Avoid ❌ curd (especially at night) ❌ milk + salty foods combination ❌ fried, spicy, fermented ❌ non-veg (if taking, reduce heavily) 5. 🧘 lifestyle (VERY IMPORTANT) sleep before 11 pm avoid stress (major trigger even if unnoticed) regular sweating (exercise / steam) ⚡ quick Clinical Plan (Simple) morning: warm water + neem/amla oil application Weekly: Mild detox / virechana planning ⏳ How Long for Long-Term Relief? 4–6 weeks → flare frequency reduces 3 months → significant control 6 months → long remission possible

Psoriasis flare-ups, even if mild, usually indicate an underlying imbalance that is not fully stabilised yet. External applications like Kayakalp oil and ointment help control symptoms, but for longer relief, internal balance and trigger control are equally important. Focus on keeping Pitta and skin inflammation under control. Continue your gluten-free diet if it is helping. Avoid very spicy, sour, fermented, and packaged foods. Maintain regular meals and good hydration. Stress is also a common trigger, so keeping a calm routine and proper sleep is important. Sun exposure in mild morning hours and regular application of your current oil can be continued. Avoid harsh soaps and hot water on affected areas. At home, you can take neem leaves (if available) in small quantity or neem-based water occasionally, and include turmeric in your daily diet. Coconut oil application can also help in soothing dryness. • Arogyavardhini vati – 1 tablet twice daily after food • Mahamanjishtadi kwath – 15 ml with equal water twice daily after food • Gandhak rasayan – 1 tablet twice daily after food These help in blood purification, reducing inflammation, and improving skin stability over time. Continue consistently for a few weeks to see better control over flare-ups. If frequency increases or spreads, a more personalised approach may be needed. Regards, Dr Raghuveer (Ayurvedacharya)
